April of 2017- This was year I picked up digital art!
And this was one of the very first drawings I've done on this character!

(I used to do everything on one layer~)

Late 2018- I remember this was the phase where I really dipped my toes in skin tones and color palettes. Although, it's not that predominate in this sketch, but It's the only sketch I could find on this character.

2019/2020- This was around the time where I really nailed my art style, but wasn't really happy with the amount of time it took to finish. Wish I could go back and tell myself that I was done a great job and that I needed that time in order for me to grow.

Fast forward to a fanart I'm working on now.

I'm still making art! and I'm currently in process of making a comic!

Reviving this because I just found some old art from 2015.

Man ... my style was always there.

And this was my first ever attempt at digital art (done on a Surface with a pen, not a drawing tablet). Behold. You are about to witness true beauty.

My first ever attempt to draw with a drawing tablet is even more beautiful, however. Behold this gorgeous piece from 2017. It is art. Pure art. It doesn't get better than this.

Some old vs new comparisons. I made the first three episodes of my comic in 2020 but scrapped them and restarted in 2022... for good reason. I can't help but laugh at my old character designs. The colors were so painfully drab and the stiff poses and expressions make me die a little inside lol

My new style feels more "alive", but with luck, I'll continue to keep growing as an artist and a writer at the same rate. Here's to hoping that I'll be similarly grossed out when I look back at my 2022 creations in another two years!

It can be a good feeling to look at old art and be like "wow that sucks". Lets you know you're improving! :'D
