You love your pets, I love mine, show them off.
The oldest, and my longest term companion, Lexi. 12 years ago, when I was but a little child, on the way to school, a young chiweenie barged into the car when we were getting in it. Next thing we knew the little thing wouldn't leave us alone and thus, she became ours. She was tough, dirty and scarred but now she's mellowed out with age and is still about as sweet as can be. (Don't mind the thousand-yard stare)
Daisy is a lab/greyhound mix that's seven years old. She was a runt and the last dog of her litter to get adopted. She's timid and anxious all the time and just about as introverted as I am, but she's very strong and extremely loyal, in addition to being used as a pillow by the small ones.
The little Cocker Spaniel next to her is Candy III and is five years old, often called "Candy" "Can Can" and "C3." She was a breeding dog used in the most reprehensible breeding ground I ever saw, but sense both of her litters had cataracts the poor thing was about to be put down, despite her being somewhat healthy and only 2 years old. My father, the owner of the previous Candies saw the ad in a rundown diner and he had to adopt her, after some unfortunate events, she became mine.
All three of them are some of the best dogs I ever had, and despite the things that happened to them they are a huge positive force in my life.
