I feel like this is how artists end up with a bunch of different hobbies, lol.

Cool new words for me! Lefties aren't rare nowadays.

I forgot how to layer Polychromo color-pencils properly, blue hue shades are too thin, make it looks like a kid's coloring

Goodness, today I had an idea to make a relative visualization of the terrain of my story place. I'm such a hopeless procrastinator.

So I use Google Earth and look for some highlands not too far from sea.
And this are is similar enough from what I imagined so I took snapshots of it.

The yellow line is from the tallest mountain near the village, to the nearest sea in straight line. This shot is located on southeast of Cambodia.

side info: the village's altitude is just below 700 meter & mountain peak's above 1200 meter, not high & cold enough to have snow but do form a river.

Designing a place in village for a near future scene.

This small side market is more touted towards visitors/travellers with recreations, street food, trinkets & souvenirs. This 2nd market is located on the lower side of the village & It's clearly a lot smaller than the main market (with 4 pairs of stone wall pieces)

Draft 1: It's sketchy & barebone, I may need to jazz it up a bit more with trader stands.

pic2: Draft 2, I drew a bit more thoughtful, adding bits of randomness to make the background more organic. The back trees are not the same kind. The left side of the ground is slightly lower however it sill looked quite flat... This area on a lower hill & is to be more flat-planed but I want to push the unevenness a bit more. The BG design here is still not fully realized yet.

I sort of designed some of the stands here. But I haven't thought about the traders here & what they're selling yet. So I will design some of them next update.

Gee I forgot to add another wip of side-market merchants. But it's not done yet!

An overview draft for the rest of chapter 6 (just a 1st draft). How much can you understand my scribbles?

8 days later

Final draft of the first 2 pages. The pages are quite different than what I initially imagine-- it's less serene, but I'm finally be okay with this.

One last reference for the stall of Ms.Bell the white cat (just a BG character, a casual friend of Sanariya).

another stall next to Ms Bell's. Reference.

Daaaaang! That google earth idea is a good one. I mean, all your art is magic, but I am stealing that topography idea!

Wow! This is lovely to see! I love your attention to detail and adding all these little props and stalls to build up the world.

...I'm seriously now wondering if my chickens could have market stalls in the coop(It's modern day, but kinda functions like a hamlet...or a chicklet). It'd be extra work, but it would add variety to an otherwise boring background...

Sorry, thinking out loud here. I like to learn from other creators' processes and experiment.

But seeing this is a real treat! Inspiring!

It was fun to get it visualized! (even it's just concept) Now i wonder how would you use Google Earth for your story!

This marker sketch was drawn quickly & I messed up his right arm.

A quick reference of a BG character-- An elderly lion street performer in his corner. The 3 picture boards are choices his target audience (visitors) can choose. Can you guess what they're about?

The way they placed was inspired by Shenmue's lucky hit boards.

Ah. Current Story Progress (this is an early made 'scene'board)

Done my chapter 7 cover & here's the preview. A bit too realistic (uncanny valley) for what I wanted it to be.

That is nice work - keep it up. I've been adopting a looser for my work - mostly so I can pace myself.

Proably all the pages I need to do this year.
And No-- this is just a 1st overview draft.
