I think its more like a red sox fan asking a yankies fan a game related question. Sure, they like different teams, but its the same game.

Tapas and webtoons aren't mutually exclusive places, anyway, there are tons of creator overlap. Not to mention if someone exclusive to webtoons comes to tapas and the community is welcoming and helpful, maybe they'll bring their comic here too. As long as they're coming over in good faith to ask real questions, it'd be weird to ignore them.

It'd be great if they got their own forum, but I don't mind generally.

What grinds my gears is when I see people promoting their webtoons series here and don't have a mirror on Tap.

That is annoying though.

And your forum topic is definitely relevant to the issue at hand with our forums and Webtoons. @Kura mentioned that there are an awful lot of forum topics here like 'when will Webtoons pay me?' and 'Webtoons is giving me this glitch and that glitch'!

It's about time Webtoons make their own forums for those kind of topics, shouldn't be difficult to do but they seem to be dragging their feet about it >_>

Nono no one's singling out anyone here and there have definitely been plenty of topics about Webtoons by creators that post on both sites not just you ^^;; Eventually things will build up until it comes to a point right?

this is nothing to do with gays or your topic i have no problem with either, as i said in the first place freedom of speech and all that, i just happened to mention it on your thread. as pointed out it was off topic and here this the right course of action to ask my opinion.
I am not asking for anyone to be thrown out or put borders up, this is not war we are all creators.
my point is asking in the wrong place gets your nothing and if webtoons don't understand they need a forum you will never get one and they will continue making profits on your work and not giving back!
and the end of the day if you get your own forum in the right place i have helped you not hurt you!

I always believed this forum to be all inclusive, that means creators AND readers can use this space for discussions - ANY discussions. We have discussions about patreon, twitter, certain famous comic creators, religion, politics, and many other things.

Should we close webtoons comics simply because they can be perceived as a competitive website? That's a shaky argument to make. The comic community is too small, and too many creators use multiple platforms - if we start going down that route, we would have to stop any posts from other websites as well. And that doesn't seem fun.

What grinds my gears is when I see people promoting their webtoons series here and don't have a mirror on Tap. Or if they're looking for an artist/writer/etc. and plan to post on webtoons with no mention of Tap.

When people look to advertise or to find an artist, they often post on any comic related forum they can find. Usually to very little success. I don't mind them as they disappear quickly, but if it's an issue we can review our guidelines for the promotion/collaboration sections.

I agree with your points, but when it comes to things like "things not working on webtoons" and "how do things work there" and "this is not working there" how can anybody here do anything about it? it just seems pointless to me.

well you could always just...ignore those threads. Just like when people talk about their instagram or their favourite music - it has nothing to do with tapas itself - should they not talk about it here as well?

Since a lot of creators use webtoons as a mirror site, I think it's natural to share their experiences (and troubles) here. After all, maybe someone might be able to help you here or give you some useful advice. I mean...this is a forum of comic creators and for comic creators, right? We're all here to share our thoughts, seek help or just check if there's something new we should know about.

Since a lot of people here are active on webtoons as well, I'm not so sure if the webtoons thread really is the wrong place to ask questions. Most questions are about "what's your experience with webtoons" or " how do I upload/change XY" anyway - which do get answered here. What profit are you referring to though? There are no ads on webtoon (so far)...

From a business stand point it's not so bad. Tapas basically get all the inside information on it's competitor from people using said competitor. so if someone complains about Webtoons, they know what to avoid. If some praises webtoons they know what to do to make Tapas more competitive. I honestly hope they listen to some of the praise about how webtoons handles it's discover comics, and copies some of it's policies.

If people find success on webtoons and come here talking about it, it gives Tapas info on how to improve and keep up with the Jones' so to say. They just need to take that information and do something with it.

It is in a sense of no webtoons staff being available here to adjust or fix something, but often other users can offer support. I haven't seen many posts where not even users can help - but those I can close in the future to keep things clean. Feel free to flag posts that fall into that category so we can take a look.
