This is another problem though. You are so stubbornly insistent that your way is the only way, that once you have derailed a topic you will not stop attempting to derail it to insist on a point people can't be assed to argue because 1. It's not the thing they came to discuss, and 2. They know arguing with you is just an endless feat of you tirading on and just desperately fumbling for the last word or to be the guy that makes the final conclusion. Because in your mind, the judge of what is right and wrong is apparently you. At least that's how you make it seem.

When it's not this, you are "just about to finish" so you just have to keep posting past the point noone wants to discuss anymore or you revive old threads. You assume this is fine because it's "just one more post", but the problem with this is you assume the person you argue against will just gobble up your opinion without question. If they don't, it isn't just "one more post" or "about to finish"; it becomes absolute derailment of a discussion.

When you do this, what you are ultimately doing is inserting yourself into a discussion, manipulating it into what you want against everyone else's will, and by effect silencing or disrupting the original conversation.

As for your "My ultimate goal is to arrive at the truth" ordeal; Not every subject has an objective, collective truth that applies to everyone.
This applies to:

• Content preferences
• Production/creative methods
• Advertising methods
• Spiritual beliefs
• Any general subject that spans enough vastly different individuals, things and variations that there's a vast amount of solutions for different types of situations.

So that's... Almost everything. Basically, your goal in these derailments of discussions is ultimately based in something that doesn't work in any form of reality.

At the end of the day, though, none of this matters. What matters is that letting an argument go when everyone else is tired of it is just common sense and the respectful thing to do. Also, going off topic is sortof against the forum rules. I've been flagged for it before too. We all have to play by the same rules, you don't get to evade them just because you make a list of your argumental intentions. There's no special treatment for anyone here.

You're basically being told you can argue with people, but don't be an arse about it. Does that information require a witty comeback? Deflection? You clearly are aware your bothering people, so stop doing the things to bother people. If you're noticing to late that you're being a bother, work on recognizing at what point you are crossing the line.

.....the main goal of a company is to earn money off of their ideas, to finance future developments, make profit and pay the people hired under it (as a responsible company would). Not deflecting responsibility. Why would Patreon intentionally go out of their way to create another drama making people quit their product?? It makes no sense.

The problem with the last one wasn't the idea itself, but the fact that they were about to launch it without checking with their users if it was a wanted change first. Big changes require audience input or you run the risk of screwing yourself and the people who depend on your product being reputable.

Most companies don't piss their customer base off on purpose. Rarely when customers get pissed does it ACTUALLY have to do with bad intentions from the company's end. Oftentimes they have an idea and don't realize the negatives until it's too late and people are already angry about it and tweeting their heads off.

You seem to be making several assumptions here:

• That a company will always maximize profit by providing the best possible good or service.

• That a company only ever makes mistakes out of carelessness and never out of malice.

• That company cannot be short-sighted or divided. It will never pursue short-term profit (or allow factions to do so) at the expense of long-term welfare.

All of these things are provably wrong. I can cite any number of news articles -- factual counterexamples. I'm sorry to dredge this up from the other thread, but you and eight other people are badly misinformed. And it is physically painful for me to see you all acting so willfully ignorant.

Why won't you listen? Why won't you find out for yourselves? Why do you make me feel so helpless?

You DON'T hold the absolute truth. You really don't.

You are also ENTIRELY MISSING grey areas in the discussion which is another big problem. You are claiming I've said things I haven't.

Firstly, no I didn't. Secondly, I only implied they will attempt to do so most of the time.
Keep in mind that creators like ourselves have to register businesses most of the time in order to be responsible tax-wise. We don't want to profit off of badly done work. It hurts our pride and makes the effort a business takes entirely wasted. This is true for most companies and company owners I have been in immediate contact with.

Since you don't seem to see it, I will point it out in ways you can understand:

Lolno this convo didn't go the way you want, you're up against a wall, so you're trying to come out of it with your pride intact by haphazardly calling out irrelevant bits from a random convo we had recently and make something out of it.
