Just thought I'd share the hype. If you ever missed the kind of Disney animation from awhile ago you might like this.
2D animation isn't technically "dead". It's been doing perfectly fine in europe and asia. The great thing about 'Klaus' however is that it's wanted to to take the medium and push it forward instead of getting too trapped in nostalgia.
And in case your wondering yes, aside from some props here and there this is all hand drawn animation using drawing tablets. No one really know how they did the coloring and rendering since the studio has decided to keep it under wraps. All we know is that it's supposedly not cgi or a mesh or anything like that. Sergio Pablos (one of the creators) also wanted to make it clear that this wasn't supposed to be about making 2d look 3d, but to incorporate the beauty of concept art that gets lost when 2d designs become 3d animation.
