Something going on at Smack Jeeves?

Hi!

I use smack Jeeves to upload my comic as well. I never gotten as much interaction there as here or deviantart. No one ever comments but I had about a 100 "regular readers" so I kept uploading for those... But then last month it went down to 2 readers in a week and since then it has stayed there... It feels so weird that so many people would leave. There is nothing upsetting happening in the story that I think would cause it... No one has complained on tapas or DA at least so....

So I wonder if anyone has a similar experience at smack jeeves? It just... bothers me. Could they have changed their way of counting readers maybe?

The readers count always seemed unreliable in my opinion. It is supposed to update every so often, I don't know how much exactly, but it doesn't seem like it. Maybe it updates more like once a month? I'm not sure why it would drop off so much though. My completed comic dropped off pretty gradually over time.

I would pay more attention to the number of fans and also the site stats since those are much more accurate and consistent.

Yes, the stats were updated back in April. Here is the forum post for it.

@Ok, I will look into that more then. I always just looked at regular readers more then the statistics.

@Amymone Oh that makes sense then! i see a lot of people complained about readers dropping in that thread. Good to know it is not personal. ^_^;

Yeah, they got rid of lots of bots that had been lurking on the page. The stats are now up to date and should show the real deal!

@Chopythes I guess I did not have any readers there then LOL XD I am not surprised tho because I never been marketing my page there or liked to it anywhere. I was actually really confused to have 100 regular readers there. I guess they had a lot of bots! :-o

haha, yeah, they did! I had like 100+ readers and now I'm down on 50 xD

Oh Smack Jevees!! My comic is DEAD there. I never get relevant activity. I have like 8 followers and 11 readers. I relate! The statistics counted hundred of visitors and 50 returning readers until it went down to 11...I respect those real readers too much to stop updating but I think I will quit SJ as soon as I finish that adventure.
I will happily visit your comic here on Tapas that character looks intersting!

@amortelito Yeah, I think the way the site is built and looks is just hard to get into. I have a lot of more fun here at tapas Oh thank you for checking out my comic! I really like yours to!

Yeah I think Tapas is more fun, it makes interaction easier. In Smack Jeeves I think the forum is way more "strict" which is not even a bad thing. Every community has guidelines and rules but I just felt that admins were too quick to call out some posts for little honest mistakes. I really like you comic! I used to dress like Lizzy <3

I'm on Smackjeeves, too, and I think mine are downt to 14 fans and 23 readers. I update there 3 times a week, which is the same as what I do on Tapas and Webtoons. I think they're either having a problem with their tracker or they've changed how they track or where (maybe like Webtoons that only counts those from the US)
