Just remembered another one! Hast Thou Considered The Tetrapod by The Mountain Goats. It's about a kid trying to avoid getting beaten by their stepfather and failing. It's obviously very heart-breaking but it's the end that gets me every time where the kid vows to keep going despite everything. It's that determination in the face of adversity that makes me tear up.
This song breaks my heart every time I listen to it.
Pets by TWRP. It sounds fun and up from their electric sounds, but if you listen to the lyrics it's about remembering the love you had for your now passed pet. I listen and cry on my dog's old photo. I miss him.
I know.
Here is another. It’s a cover, but absolutely beautiful.
So basically anything acoustic and/or with a sad piano in it sets me off.
Just beautiful in every way.
This one is beautiful too. A cover of Phil Collins classic.
Honestly, this man writes about depression and feeling suicidal like no-one else and a lot of his songs are pretty tear-inducing, but this one in particular wins:
Another song that never fails to get me is No One But You by Queen:
Ah that Queen one. Who Wants to Live forever is another emotional one of theirs
More emotional than sad.
These two used to make me pretty sad, but I've learned to forgive, so not so much now.
