with regards specifically to the tech support stuff like mentioned here
i can do my best to be respectful of the fact that it seems to do better for their workflow which is fine but i also hope that staff will recognize or be somewhat understanding of folks who might not be willing to sort through trying to download a new site/app just to report a bug. Which I guess is why i'm grateful of them leaving the option to send emails but the fact that its only some issue to be reported via email and all others via the discord is kinda :\
"spilling the tea" is basically sharing int he latest drama, gossip and other issues that would otherwise be hidden in certain places. finding out about tapas related issues whether with the platform, tos updates, community issues etc etc are a lot easier to stumble upon here on the forums rather than on a fast moving discord. so lets say the slow suppression of the forums would be a much bigger buzz here than on the discord where it'd be an up and active topic for maybe a few minutes before it dissipated again
god knows what staff themselves might share amongst each other where we may not be able to see. which is why i'd prefer the phrasing of things be a little less condescending and just to the point. i mean hell as a cancer and occasional infp-t i'm used to being labeled as a softie but i can take blunt truth need they be delivered so a simple "we're not getting rid of the forums but will be shifting more focus and activity to the discord" would be a hell of a lot better than what we've already gotten
the irony of this is i don't even know if it'll be for all off topic threads from here on out or just this one but irregardless it's still pretty sus
