I got 81 messages and jumped from my hammock. Nothing even remotely related to what I use to read. Why so much despair, Tapas??? [image]
Oh, I see! Thank you for all the info! Well, for novels, Ive already seen the contract for many and Webnovel eats even your moral rights, and Goodnovel even illustrations you hse for covers and etc. Kakao is going the same route. For comics, Lezhin claims all rights over anything you submit to the…
Oh, which sites are these??? We need all protection we can
I'm happy you think so! XD
Totally support this. We have to keep being loud about these things, otherwise they'll just try to replicate their abusive practices in other countries, or keep sucking the souls of their native employees/contractors in silence.
Kakao is worse than WT, according to their latest investor reports. No wonder they are literally robbing people. (Yeah dont bother to come with this "mememe there is more we don't know", or "Aye read ya contract buh buh buh" you'll be ignored as hair in a man's chest.
They're doing all they can to sabotage these adult comics. Korean authors complain all the time and say the treatment they get make Lezhin look like a red carpet.
I'm looking SO FORWARD to Global Comix's improvements their CEO said they would be implementing this year. Seriously, I'm fed of these big korean corps trying to shove their rules into our western throats.
It's the best route. I just get upset when those platforms lure authors, grab their IP then throw them on the trashcan because reasons. But hey! Living and learning!
I'd read all of these!
let's see, then. (writing gibberish to reach the 20 characters limit, arrr!)
I researched some smaller apps, as well. 3, till now. One for WebComics app's novels, other for "Popink" and one solely for officially translated danmei (chinese BL). Got them all in apple store, and all have their 'kisses' operating well, in spite of the usual chinese censorship. Btw, I haven't f…
They dont have novels, but they have wattpad, and the kisses are alright, there. And shooting themselves on the foot is something tapas does every now and then.
Till now they adopted the same rules, even before Tapas, tho. Tapas isnt a small platform, even tho isnt as big as WT.
All edgelords are sl*ts and we know it
This "app store" excuse makes no sense. I just checked on Webtoons and I can find all the kisses, sorry.
Why Webtoons hasnt changed, tho?
LMAAO! Not to throw shade, or start conspiracies, but this is a very convenient bug...
Kiss is a word that can easily even be used in non-romantic phrasing! And yeah, if it's going for titles most probably will extend to the body of works... I hope it, too, but tbh I've lost all hope for Tapas. People complain about Webtoon, and they have good reasons, but things here are becoming …
Ikr! It came out of nowhere... they're working really hard to mess the whole platform down. Hope it's just a glitch, or a bad, reversible decision.
you and whoever is seeing this can go to the app and search any title with "kiss" and see for yourselves. I'm not anyone's dad to print and share it here.
Seriously, what is going on? Kissing my children, my cats, is imoral, now? The word "kiss" implies hardcore fetish sex instantaneously? And please don't come with "app guidelines" excuse cause all the "kisses" at Webtoons, Originals and Canvas, are strong and mighty.
I'm not a fan, tbh. All the symbols, hints and etc. can be used in the story itself, to advance the plot. Plot wise, most times, it will be even less useful as flashbacks, and get the audience even more annoyed. There is this manga, X/1999 which got cancelled because there were lots of dreams, and s…
After all the crap and predatory behavior I've seen behind the scenes involving ancillary rights, and how the author is the one usually left to eat sh*t, I'd prefer go Alan Moore route and let comics be appreciated as comics.
tbh both can work well, or not. It depends on more on the page layout and fonts size. But seems vertical format is taking the space by assault, I know no strong platform where print page format is relevant. If anything, vertical format comics are being converted to print and getting good space even …
I love their reaction because it's always like this: [image]

Welp..... I suspected it would be like this. Thankfully there was just some lame old art in my DA account, and my name means another whole thing that has nothing to do with art. Hoping my Exu friends will "take care" of them...
I already marked everything, deviations and my profile, and sent that lame form. The question is: will it work?
Meanwhile I just wish I had seen this so polemic thread!
