Sprial of Nightmares chapter 1 review?

Okay... So I've honestly been sort of shying away from this since I wasn't sure if it was a good time or not to have a sort of review. But I decided to go on with it anyway in case I may need to improve anywhere later in the series. I know I've had some typos and some grammar mistakes before which I gladly fixed! but if you so happen to find some, please forgive me and I'll be happy to go back and fix those errors. sorry in advance also if might of seemed I was being lazy with it. I had no intentions of at all.

Some of the dialogue might sound a bit weird too. which I tried fixing in Chapter 2!

But anyway, My webcomic Spiral of Nightmares is a Horror story about people no longer having good dreams. people experience nightmares every night hoping one day good dreams would return. In the process of these nightmares experienced, people create these creatures known as Spirals that once awake are in search of a host in order to continue surviving. The story takes place about a boy named Miguel StarDigger. a worker who digs up Spirals burning them daily in hopes of permanently destroying this cycle of endless nightmares. Later on however, he finds a girl who goes by the name of Margarette. being in contact with these creatures by any means is equal to certain death. you will die touching them. But Margarette However is able to eat them. discovering this, Miguel takes this girl in to find out more about who she is...or well, help her figure out maybe WHAT she is. He wants to know the reason why she eats Spirals. Margarette however doesn't seem to care at all. All she knows is that she just likes to eat.

Hello just thought I'd boost just in case others might want to check it out! I'm totally open for critic! as long it's constructive of course! also I guess I better give a heads up for the comic since it's pretty dark!

I have to ask you where you got your inspiration from this title.
I am going to try to give you an honest critique without spoiling it for everyone. (I don't know how to use spoilers, if we even can on this forum) First off, I really think your drawing style is cute when it needs to be and intimidating when it needs to be. That is good. I'm not a fan of this art style, but I really enjoyed it in your comic. I like that it is, being a horror comic and all, in black and white. I think it adds to the dreariness in your universe.
I had no problems reading it until Chapter 2 when I realized it actually reads more like a manga than a comic book. It just threw me off when I realized it, and I had no problems reading it before. You should mention it should be read right to left or else people who do not usually read both styles will be severely confused. This was my only issue with your comic.
Some things I wish were incorporated, which might be later on, but are not necessary, is that I wish the spirals were creepier looking before they "awaken" and that people looked as tired as I know they are. I want to know why these dreams kill people. Is it like The Long Dream where people physically cannot wake up? Or are they so terrifying that they just have a heart attack in their sleep? Is this how it has always been?
Of course, this is something you can chose not to answer in your comic and it will still BE a good comic.

hey really enjoyed the first chapter. i think the plot is instantly appealing, but it takes a moment to get immersed into the world - there's so much going on. Obviously the most memorable part was the digging incident; art was really on point here and your take on monsters inspires me for what I want to do with my own comic. The issue I had with this scene though is that the similarity of the characters made it difficult to recognize who is who. At first I thought it was the protagonist who was being attacked. But it's a really fun and engaging first chapter; and as I'm writing this I started thinking how the cutesy art lulls you into a sense of security before the really intense moments. I look forward to reading some more

honestly Spiral of Nightmares was actually inspired by one of my dreams. I had a really strange dream about a Spiral like creature and it would send you to these other worlds if you look at the tip of it's tail which had like a glowing gold light. these other worlds though were like nightmares, scary stuff you had to deal with if you didn't solve the puzzles in them. you would be stuck there forever possibly dying because of how scary the world was.

I took the concept of the Spiral and formed a story around it. and that's how I got Spiral of Nightmares.( obviously changing a few things here and there)

I'll also be sure to take note of the reading direction as well! i'll probably make an extra page in the beginning to state which direction it needs to be read. thanks for pointing that out though!

I'm also glad you have quite some questions you would like to have an answer to. all I can say without really spoiling anything is to keep reading. some will probably be answered...and maybe some won't.

I'm glad you enjoyed the first chapter. hopefully you'll enjoy the rest as it goes down. didn't mean to have a confusion there also with the workers. there's a reason they all look the same which will be explained later. regardless thanks for pointing out your thoughts!

Horror comics based on nightmares are always the best. Honestly, the title was what really got me to even consider doing a review. I love horror comics, but a great chunk of those on this website are not that, well in my opinion, great. There are some though that are really good, and I think yours is up there with the amazing comics on this site.
I can't wait to read more!
