Starting a new webcomic soon, any tips?

Hey! Im an old tapastic user whos returning to make comics again. I wanted to start with a new slice of life comic about monsters and humans living side by side on the same world.

I was wondering, before i started again, if some people could give me some tips on comic making and ways i could make it more enjoyable to read for the viewer. I already have some webcomic smarts, but you can never have enough knowledge.

Heres one of the first pages to the comic. Let me know if theres any notable changes i should make.

I love your art style, but maybe make you speech bubbles cleaner? It a bit hard to read sometimes

It's funny! But I totally agree that you should clean up your speech bubbles and perhaps try using fonts so that the letters are of a consistent size?

Other than that, it looks good. Your style compliments the overall zaniness you're trying to portray.

broken record, but, its important you give yourself enough space for speech bubbles. idk if youre drawing digitally or traditionally, but either way id say start with a well spaced first draft of the text, then bubble it, placing it in the panels. then you know how much space you need, and can accommodate.

also, id recommend having at least a weeks worth of comics drawn before you start posting. it means you know how long it takes you, and you dont need to falter on your posting schedule if something stops you from drawing more in time.

also, your palette is really pleasant and your art style is fun and expressive. you have the makings of a fun comic here

Thank you for the advice and compliment man. Ill be sure to follow it.
Heres what it looks like now.

I made sure to preview it too to make sure the words were big enough for the site.
Again thanks so much for the advice, i cant wait to release the first few pages to to the site.

edit Ill also be sure to change up to upon in the fourth panel as well .3.

oh yeah, thats good. if you align text to the centre and make it into a diamond with the smallest line on top and bottom, you can fit it in nicer, as well.

Just the speech bubbles. Everything else is perfect. But honestly, I'd read this comic even if you didn't change it cx.

Hey there!

I just wanted to say that I found your comic strip pretty funny and the drawings matches really great the type of story you're writing!

The "Bllaaaarggh!" Strip made my morning !

Overall the only thing I found wasn't as good as the rest was what everyone already gave you advice about, the speech balloons! I would suggest that the text doesn't always has to be the same size! You can emphasize some text line with simply putting the text bigger and Capital letters, like the blargh part. When they scream ice cream it could look cool if the text was a bit bigger to emphasize the enthusiasm for example.
