Hi guys, in this thread I wanted to talk about how hard it is to stay on schedule. I am a captain of a small football team in my hometown in India and so I go to practice everyday, then I come home have breakfast and rest a little. After resting I pick up my laptop and try to write, the thing is I have an ongoing web-novel series(Purgatory) on tapas and another ongoing novel series but that novel is a Paperback one. I write something for both of these ongoing series but after writing I have to spend a lot of time promoting both of them online. After using so much laptop, my eyes start to pain and I have to stop and take some rest. I also have to study to write my web-novel since it is based in the real world and not on a fantasy world, If it was fantasy then I would have just made everything up. Anyway, If you can give me some advice to better manage my time and day then I would really appreciate it.

I know how hard it is to promote so you can promote your work here as well

here is my webnovel.

and here is the link to my paperback novel, you can search it on amazon to see if its available in your country and if it is not yet available then it will be soon, I'll see to that.

As someone who studies and works, time management is a big thing for me. One thing I would recommend is making a daily schedule. Try to plan at least a month ahead, making sure to leave at least 2-4 hours every day for anything you want to do or for unexpected things. The schedule can maybe help you with creating a habit and routine.

Here's an example of my daily schedule when I'm studying (Mondays - Fridays):

6 am - Wake up and get ready for classes (Eat, shower etc.)
7am - Check emails (For Tapas)
8 am - Studying and Classes
12 pm - Lunch Break
1 pm - Freelance Work
3 pm - Free time (Writing / Editing)
5 pm - Get ready for work (Eat dinner)
6pm - Work
12 pm - Bed

I do try to stick to this schedule but it's mostly a guideline for me. Right now of course I'm on a break so my schedule is a little more free. Also I have two schedules, one for the weekend and one for weekdays. Using a calendar / daily planner can also help.

Another thing you can do to not lose track of time, is using a stop watch / time countdown. So, if you plan to write 2 hours everyday before work, time that and once the timer ends you don't touch your writing. It helps me with maximizing my time and creating a routine for my writing.

Anyway, I hope this helps you :sweat_02:

seeing your schedule actually makes me feel like I am doing a lot less, haha(laughs awkwardly) but a lot of unexpected work does come my way. Your advice is very good and I'm sure it will help me. Thank you for taking time to reply to this thread to help me.
