So..... Thankfully iy seems I've finally had a breakthrough with the Dragoons and I know what to do with them for the most part.... I've decided that they're gonna be a video series first (So if anyone has any tips on making an independent animation in a timely manner, please share.)
The big problem is that I'm still struggling a bit with how to handle the general story regarding both the heroes' and villains' clash over the main macguffins for the story. Which is something involving both groups trying to obtain the Seven Thinga-mabobs (Still deciding on what they should be) related to their pantheon of Dragon Kings for their own goals.
I have two (Maybe three) different ways to go about handling it, both with their own advantages and disadvantages.
Idea 1 is something akin to the older RPGs that inspired the Dragoons like Paper Mario in which the group has to travel to different locations to go get the MacGuffins before the villains do (or get them back from the villains in some cases) while dealing with whatever quirky shenanigans of the day they encounter in those areas.
Idea 1.5 is kind of similar to the above idea, but the villains have already swiped the Macguffins needed and are now using their powers to wreak havoc among the Dragon Kingdoms (And also try not to be sealed back away by them again).
Idea 2 is that the seven power sources of the Dragoons (The souls of the Dragon Kings that fused with them) are the things the villains need to extract for their own goals, thus having a format more akin to the tokusatsu that inspired the Dragoons also where the group has to deal with whatever shenanigans the weird villain of the week has to swipe the Dragon King Souls.
I'm trying to figure out if I can combine them in some say, but I'm not fully sure.
Also I'm trying to figure out how to incorporate the main villain plot of the villains stealing the souls/magic of the general populace for their own plans into the main story, too.
Thanks again guys.
