What are you currently studying or researching for your comic or story?
Or do you just draw and write without researching?

I´m studying horses and roosters right now for an illustration for a record
cover of a rock´n´roll band. Yeah, they want a horse in the comic in several
panels. Horses are like my arch enemy of all animals. Just drawing wise obviously.
But I also like the challenge.

Beside that I just looked up when a semester starts in the US and in Germany because
I needed that for a story.

I get you I also find horses a challenge to draw. I've been studying more face drawings and also I'm not a writer so I'm trying to learn more about it since I can come up with characters fine but when it comes to plots/writing I get pretty stuck.

I've been using my comic as an excuse to read more good books and movies and stuff. I get kind of paralyzed thinking about all of the stuff on my watch/readlist on top of making a comic and other life stuff. But reading things specifically related to themes in my comic for research purposes helps me get inspiration, pick what to read next, and makes it feel less overwhelming. Win win win. My new favourites are The Adolescence of Utena (and Revolutionary Girl Utena) and The Metamorphosis

Ah, a beginning of another school year. Maybe it's time to start some studying too!
Horses are pretty damn hard, I actually struggled with the bottom part of their legs (the whole thing after the knee, surprisingly it was not easy to make it look not awkward).
I haven't been doing any research lately at all, but a couple of days ago I returned to my small comic side project that I started sketching a few years ago. Many panels actually went through a few iterations of lineart already, but I wasn't feeling it at all. Just a day before yesterday I looked at it closely and thought that maybe I worked against myself and what I actually needed was to draw it in a more cartoonish and less complicated style? Seems to work so far, which I am happy about. I suppose in the end it was kind of a research

I'm currently focused on drawing the alps and old/beautyfull buildings. Combining this with a motorcycle brings awesome adventures
And was camping near Rothenburg ob der Tauber... That is such a magical place! So much to draw.

I'm in luck with drawing horses. I studied them while working on farms plus I did hooftrimming for cows for a while. Really teaches you the mechanics of the hoof.

Drawing from my own experiences in high school to write my clone high au. But because I was a socially awkward kid, I need to do research on hierarchy that happens in high school

I've been learning about Turkmenistan, very interesting! Right now I just watch videos, but for awhile when I was bored at my old job I would just go through google earth and look at everything I could find

Oh, and I suppose I'm also researching Oasis (the band) right now, very interesting fellows. Very odd. They are two people who are real but for some reason very much feel like someone's OCs that escaped the page

one of the most beautiful places I have ever been.
