Subscribing and liking your own publications

I recently found out that I can subscribe and like all of my publications on the phone app. I'm wondering why we can do this, who has done it, and why?

I did it because I like my work. Don't see any use in subscribing to my publications, but I did it because I found out I could.

Personally i haven`t done this because it felt too similar to liking my own posts on facebook.

Nothing forbid doing this, is more of a personal choice.

One day i was checking how the library works on Tapas and i found out you can sub to your own comics and like your own pages. I didn`t stay subbed because at the moment it felt similar to liking your own post on Facebook, but i am interested in your opinions... ¿What do you think about it?, ¿It`s acceptable here?, ¿how common it is?,¿do you do it?

I wasn't aware you could like your own posts on Facebook. Your topic should have come up when I was creating this one, and it didn't. Not sure why that is, but I will check it out. Thank you.

i only sub to make sure episodes a posted, especially the scheduled ones. dont see much use in liking though i used to for a bit ;;

Yeah a lot of creators sub to their own works, especially since you'll be asked to subscribe to it after reading 3 pages of it anyway.
Idk why you would want to like your own work though? Self love I guess :^) you do you.

Apparently subbing to your publications notifies you if they post, so that is good for delayed publication. I haven't used that feature yet, but will be doing so in the future.

Likes are apparently viewed in a very negative manner, and they actually hurt your trending prospects. I was under the impression that if the author didn't like their own work, why on earth are they publishing it? Forum posters for the most part seem to think it's lame at best, and a cry for attention at worst. Personally I find people who say their work isn't very good are the ones crying for attention, not the folks who like their publications. You are your own cheering squad, excuse the analogy. I can't on any level equate giving myself a heart on a story I worked damn hard on and still liked enough to publish with being lame, or a cry for attention. My hearts are staying.

As said, I sub to my current series exactly so I can check out if everything is running smoothly on my phone latter, since I always schedule.

I mean, I feel like, as dawg said, you do you. Honestly, I don't think either liking your own work or saying it isn't very good are necessarily cries for attention. They can be symptoms of it, yeah, but not necessarily. The important thing is to be happy with your actions, I feel.

I'm subbed to my own series, because it makes it easier to find it on mobile and I want to check if everything is fine. Liking my own oages would be a little too much for me though. XD

So you can read your comic on mobile easily:3 Its probably just because it didn’t seem important enough to code out.

I like my updates just out of habit.

I won't judge, but I don't feel comfortable doing that. I prefer to just sit back and relax. I'm the maker. I don't need to subscribe.

Yes to subbing, as it's a good tool for checking that scheduled posts are going out on time and that all is working as you expect. But only a cad and a bounder would give themselves likes, surely!

I do sub to mine, like most said is the easiest way to find it via mobile. The liking I am not sure, I like one of mine to see if you could, but in all honesty I am in the same both as it in facebook about liking your own post.

Not that I would put anyone down if they do it, nothing wrong with it and is just a personal feeling to my own stuff.

I've subbed to my own comic so that I can easily pull it up on my mobile devices when I'm away from my computer- which makes it easier to find when I'm showing my comic off to others.

I subbed to my own comics after I heard that other creators do it to make sure it's reaching their fans and not getting lost somewhere along the way (like what happens sometimes with other platforms where you can subscribe to creators.)

I still find liking your own comics to be kind of tacky, however.

an update has a 199 likes? nope let's make that a 200 :"^) Once it's past the 201 mark i unlike and be on my way.
even on stuff like YouTube comments. And i'm pretty sure there are a lot of other folks with such an OCD as myself : P

otherwise i don't see the point in like/subbing to your own work, but doesn't hurt anyway?

Shameful admission...yes. I have subbed to my own books. But mainly so that it is easier for me to access when I'm on my phone and wanna proofread it again for the 100th time...just in case. Currently working on this:

I don't think its shameful, subbing to your own stuff is actually a helpful thing. Though given the number of negative things I have seen for the hearts, I am beginning to wonder if having them stops people from reading the stories. I never would have guessed it was such a touchy subject.
