Hi! I'm currently developing a superhero OC called Hugo. He was "bitten" by a strange butterfly that gave him superpowers. I already know he has antennae that give him heightened senses, and his suit will allow him to fly, but I've been kinda stuck on what other "main" powers to give him. I was thinking of magic of some sorts. Any ideas or inspirations?

I once made a butterfly mage that had spirits that took the shape of butterflies. They caught fire anywhere they landed.
Only downside? They sucked at following orders and kind of fluttered to their heart's content. Lots of accidental forest fires and burnt down barns.

I hope that helps you along somehow.

Checked some wikipedia:

And here are some ideas.

1-As you see, some butterflies use camouflage to evade predators, you could turn that into a power.

2-Also, some butterflies are agents of pollination. You could make Hugo able to shoot pollen.

3-I know the cocoon is from earlier stages before a caterpillar becomes a butterfly, but what about a cocoon shield?

Also a bonus tip: sometimes you can make a character even more interesting by making them use their established powers in smart and/or unconventional ways. For example, spiderman used his webs in many ways. He uses them to catch enemies, to swing like Tarzan around the city, to make a safety net, to catch things outside his reach, to set traps, etc.

Hope this helps!

I was going to say camouflage and hormones/pollen too!

So I just passed by to say that this looks like a cool ideal, come back here and share your comic with us when it's done, pls! It just seems awesome
