Talismans/Physical objects that keep you accountable for your Comic/Novel

Do you have any talismans (objects with power/good luck charms) that help you create your stories?
Or any physical reminders to keep you accountable to your creations (and help you to keep going)?

When I started getting deep into the scripts for my comic, I had a hat made to both celebrate the start of my story as well as keep me accountable for making the final book to everyone who ran into me. It was a heck of a conversation piece.

As I wore it every day, it was a constant reminder that I had a book that I was proud of. I'm pretty excited that it's so sun-damaged from 3 years of use.

What are some of yours? What physical object do you keep close to you while you make your art?

Also, sorry for creepily looking over the edge of the picture at y'all, but I was proud of my crows feet in this pic (and I felt like one those old Garfield plushes that used to hang in car windows (hence, the crowfeet)).

I don't really have anything like a small object but it might sound weird but what keeps me going is my laptop.
When I have my laptop I am constantly reminded that I have to finish the project I am working on, even if turns out to be shit.
I read somewhere that Even if you write a single word and are not able to write more, your are still one word closer to completing your project and however slow your pace is, you will only be moving forward and that is a great reminder and keep me going

Absolutely. It's a lot easier to work with a bad rough draft than no draft at all.

I don't have items or wearables keeping around to inspire me. (I have some of my own self-bought merchs but i put them in the drawers.)

Mine will be "the wall".

It has all the main/side/minor characters color ref., character list, maps, guidelines, etc. Some will be updated such as page template, or monthly work schedules.

The content stays on the window blind for quite some time-- like 3~4 years now, it becomes a common sight, and I don't look that it everyday. But It's still giving me the original sense of wonder & optimistic "future expectations" like when i started the project. "The wall" reminds me that this is my main project so i won't sway away. It may stays for more years to come until i complete the journey.

I have another smaller bulletin board on the side of the wall but i won't show it. It has some future character quick sketches pinned there.

Thankfully the hat only ran $40 (but I got 2... so yeah, it hurt a bit (but served as more fuel to make the darn comic)).

That's an awesome wall. I hope I can make a similar workspace for my next book (because now that I'm finding my style, I want to work on consistency and proper world building).

I don't really have any talismans or anything, but since I work traditional, I do have all of the actual physical pages of my comic in a portfolio binder next to my desk. Every time I finish a page, I slip it in, flip through them, and count how many open slots I have left before I fill it up and need a new one.

I don't really have a physical object like your hat (it's so cool) but I've sort of conditioned myself to do something productive whenever I use my laptop. Writing usually ends up being a "productive break" I take when I'm using my laptop to study or something.

Interesting! Well, for me it'd be my fans. More specifically, I have a wooden fan that my mother bought for me when she travelled to Barcelona a few years ago. It helps me having that aroung every time I begin drawing ^^
