@hazyandstar Great! I had a stroke of inspiration for a story that wasn't quite coming together. After looking at stories on the Tapas app, it appears a strong beginning hook is most important. What about you? I hope you can catch up soon!

i have a question, can the story exceed from 12k words (since 400 words x 30 days =12k words) a little bit? (like 12.5k or 13k words) or does it have to be exactly 12k words long?

Hi, I have a few more questions:
If my manuscript gets in, will the rights still belong to me, or will it become the property of Tapastic? The reason I'm asking is because I was hoping to make a comic adaption eventually, and I want to do the artwork myself, rather than have a different artist adapt it into a comic for me.
Also, I'm guessing that I won't be able to do a print version if my manuscript gets in, because it'll be exclusively on the app?

One more thing: I don't have the Tapas app, because my cell phone is not the kind of phone that uses apps. Is it still all right if I enter?

Yes, the rights will still belong to you, as you are the author/creator. As for your second question, this is a matter of the contract and will be discussed should your manuscript be accepted during negotiations.

And as GoldenPlume stated, you don't need to have the app to enter.

One more question: Is it okay to add drawings between the text for our submission or is that something to be discussed separately, after the contest? I've always planned to incorporate drawings of particular scenes, but I'd skip that if it's not allowed.
