I'd be willing to draw a few of the matches to practice more dynamic and serialized story telling for my future projects. (Maybe not the ones my characters compete in to avoid bias, but let's see how it plays out.)

For the time being I'll put up my lil one, I would like to get a definitive explanation on how victories are conducted at some point, but until then I'll sign up. Can't promise I can draw pages as I have two series I make my top priority.

Ivolice Bartlett
Abilities:

-Uses a katana
-Can produce and control light particles with the snap of a finger
-Uses light as a means of attacking opponents whether she uses as a projectile or strikes with her blade
-Can heal others
-Produces a light shield/barrier
-Agile and capable of jumping over 6 ft
-Knows how to take a punch

Weaknesses
-Can't heal others without causing harm to herself
-She can't physically grab light she produces without hurting herself
-Is not willing to kill an opponent
-If she reverts to her normal self she's basically just a teenage girl

Guest announcer/referee (if it's girl vs girl)

If I might make a suggestion: Don't make a victory based on poll mainly because if others join, chances are they would tell their audience "Hey character X is fighting character Y in this fight club, vote for my guy to win" only because it just increases the chance of someone with a bigger audience to win just out of their popularity. Anyways hope this will work out at some point.

Yeah, we probably shouldn't use a popularity poll of the victories. Because that'll probably just open a huge can of worms. Also, the two competitors should decide beforehand whether or not their match will be "to the death". Because a big problem with a lot of 'VS. match' type stuff (including the main inspiration for this one, Death Battle) is that they have to end in the death of one combatant, which can lead to the victor coming off as unsympathetic if they're a hero (Looking at you two, Agumon V Charizard and Yang V Tifa).

Allow me to pitch my own guest announcer (and possible future competitor if he can ever be asked.)

We should probably start spreading the word to get more people interested and involved in this soon.

More than spreading the word, since there is already some people interested, I think it would be good to do an example (exhibition?) fight as a test. Then use that fight as promotion to get more people interested.

Moreover, a test could help to identify problems and do some tweaks to the idea, if necessary, in order to improve the overall experience.

I'd be up for an exhibition match to test the waters and gauge interest. Masked Puppers 1 & 2 are ready to go for any challengers who want to step up to the plate and swing! Any takers?

Sweet. Masked Puppers 1 & 2 are from Edible Green Tea (Namely as superhero alter-egos for the main character's pet dogs.)

I started a story arc about Masked Pupper 1 in the third season of my webcomic.

Here's their debut strip (Not part of the in progress arc.)

It's basically everything I outlined before but what it would look like as a published comic. This should make it easier for anyone to participate. I'd like to do something similar for the fight panels.

I think this is how victory should be decided; it's a bit of a stretch but it's the only way I can think of with so many people working on it.

I say we have both fighters look at strengths and weakness of eachother, then they each submit three unique maneuvers they would employ using their strengths, weaknesses and the layout of the stage to get the upper hand on their opponent. Then the announcers and the ref come together and see who has the better battle plan and we decide a winner from there. Then once we show the results to the combatants and they give us their blessing, we write out a short script for the fight using the ideas submitted to us by the two fighters.
