Okay so here is how I think the fights should be formatted so that there is less butting of heads regarding how each episode should play out.
I. Fight Initiation (Referee starts the match, Combatants make their first moves, announcers begin commentary on the match.)
II. The Fight (Combatants fight like only they know how while the announcer commentary continues.Put x3 to put a cap on the amount of pages a fight can be. We can always change that if it proves to be too much)
-NO PICTURE AVAILABLE
III. Game Set Match! (A fighter goes down, referee declares a victor. Announcers scream in delight with words of praise and excitement)
-NO PICTURE AVAILABLE
IV. Conclusion (Announcers make closing statements and remind readers to catch the next event.)
I feel like this will facilitate any match that we end up putting together without too much chaos on the development side of things. I would like to make the assets so that the only things that need to be worried about whenever we create a new fight are the characters and the fighting arena. That would mean I'd create the graphic elements like the Character title card frames, the Announcers Desk and Ad section of the first episode.
I also have Friendly Sheep as a permanant Announcer so that there is always at least one person who can commentate the fights. I have my other avatar, the Hungry Wolf, as a resident referee should we not be able to find a guest ref for a fight
Now.. For who is responsible for the art...
Given that the last thread ivolving character fights involved a single artist creating the fight scenes for those who asked, the work load was split between them and those who issued a counter attack. Since this is a competition with decided winners and losers, I don't think their way of creating the fights will work out due to one person getting over worked and their character getting all of the attention.
What I suggest is having a team of people who would be willing to create awesome fight scenes for practice and for the glory of adding more action based content to Tapas. I would be a part of this team given I am suggesting a lot of the ideas and I don't want to leave all of my expectations without being there to help them become realized.
I was also thinking that those who wish to fight are also enlisting themselves to help with making the panels. Perhaps the winner helps draw the next fight with the team who illustrates the fights. The Winner gets the glory but the loser isn't tasked with helping plan out panels for fights.
I feel like the guest announcers should be responsible for drawing themselves into the comic. Since the panels for announcers will always look the same, they will only be tasked to draw themselves announcing and responding to the fight and their other co-announcers. The ref should also be responsible for drawing themselves in the preliminary stuff and the fight team can take care of drawing him in the actual fight.
Once again, I'd really like input for all of this. I'm not perfect and I might be overlooking something obvious or necessary for this to work. This kind of thing is a huge collaborative effort but if we all come together then I know we can put something together that we can really be proud of
My next post will be about how we determine a winner so check it out if you aren't already tired of me and my long posts x.x
