Tapas Tarot Card Collab 2017!?! - Perhaps After Christmas?!?!?

I’ve taken part in a 78 deck project in the past and it was plenty fun (80 artists participating includin
a cover artist for the back of the card and an artist for the pouch it came in)- but it was a paid project (kickstarter)
anyway.
i’d be up to taking leadership on this if needed (on a 21- wait isn’t it 22?- cards project of course), but i feel like there needs to be a commmom theme other than just ‘cards made by tapas creators’ lol

Sounds better than what I had in mind, where I was just going to randomize what card a person was tasked (to avoid favortism and make it as fair as possible). I'm not 100% familiar with the tarots (outside the persona games) so you might be better off taking the reigns

Should I switch from Court Cards to the Major Arcana cards? The Major Arcana do not have suites, so my current explanations are not at all helpful.

we could honestly do it together i could use the help!
i was considering the randomized method at first too (that’s what we did in that one big collab i did in the past) butttt since here people aren’t given an incentive i’m thinking maybe first come first serve would be better so the artists have a stronger connection to the card & would want to finish the project lol

@Zaboem you might need to act as our technical advisor if you’d be up for it haha
if we’re doing this i think the Major Arcana would be wise (also what’s most well known/popular i think?)

I'm not really sure what themes, I'm pretty simple minded so naturally my thoughts went to seasons or nature.

Ok, Give me about 2 hours to compose a topic and post at a time that will draw in more people. I'd like to avoid as much confusion as possible. First come first serve, should we add a link to the major arcana so people can get an idea of what the cards are supposed to represent (like a wikipedia link)?

Should a template be made for each card to keep them similar or should we leave that to creative decision of the artist?

A link sounds like a good idea
I'll make a google docs with all the cards and place for who takes what etc.

I think a template is unecessary but the cards must have at least a representation of the main themes from the classic card and specific a size and dpi

I think that of we are doing a partial deck, the major arcana os definitely the way to go. If I were to print out my Tapas Tarot collection, combine it with a regular poker deck, and throw away the jokers, I would have a functional and complete tarot deck which is a nice option.

If the project goes smoothly, we could do one suite at a time. Within five manageable projects (four suites and the major arcana), we would have a complete deck. That's a discussion for if and when this project sees completion though.

I'd rather see how this goes first. After all the Major arcana draws more interest
