The door swings open silently when you stand in front of it. The red light gleams ominously. You brace yourself and step into the complete dark. The door swings shut behind you immediately. You shuffle forward slowly. A tiny red light flicks on in the distance, swaying hypnotically. It gets closer and closer. You start to back up, but you fall backwards into nothing and plummet down, heart racing and wind rushing past you. With a sickening lurch, you end up where you began. Now the red light above the third door is out, and it does not open again…

So I guess I'll give you two options! Pick whichever you prefer.

1. Rixi
   She pouted in front of him now, tapping her foot in the air as her dragonfly wings held her aloft. Her black skirt danced in the wind, and her long blond hair twisted into a perpetual curlique. She leaned forward, hands on her hips, with her dark green blouse hanging loosely around her neck. Her nose was just inches away from his, but he ignored her completely, waving her away as he focused on his work.

2. Luka
   The spirit floated directly in front of her, ignoring the concept of personal space. Its body was formed of pure starlight, reflecting endless galaxies within its depths. A silver tunic wrapped loosely around Luka's body, and the spirit glinted with intelligence.

Some new doors will be forthcoming!

You have arrived at the Imperial Palace just in time for the ball, but you've forgotten the way to the ballroom! And for some reason, none of the servants seem very helpful... You stopped at an intersection in the hall, and now all that remains is for you to pick the correct path!

1. The West Hall.
   This brightly lit hallway leads off to the left and ends in a sturdy oak door studded with strips of iron, clearly a defensible position. The cobbled stones are worn smooth with age and use. Raised voices can be heard from the door beyond.

2. The North Hall.
   The path directly in front of you is dimmer than the others, ensconced torches interspersed periodically along the walls. You cannot see the end, but you think it might lead to a set of stairs.

3. The East Hall.
   The hall to your right is brighter still than the left, with troughs of flame burning against the walls. A red ribbon trails on the ground in front of you, leading around the corner at the end of the hall.

Please select your path. Choose carefully, but don't be late!

Can I just say I LOVE this concept for the game?! It's such a good idea! As for my pick...I think I'll go with #3. Might not be right, but I'm excited to hear where it leads me anyway

@fearthedeer724 You follow the ribbon around the corner and find it tied to the handle of a locked door. As you fiddle with the latch, trying to get it unlocked, a portcullis behind you slams to the ground, trapping you in the dungeon wing! Your arch nemesis smirks at you from the other side of the grate, taunting you mercilessly.

You have missed the ball! Game Over. Better luck next time...

@BellaTheCow You open the door carefully, but it squeaks on its hinges, and the two people in the room immediately stare at you. Your face turns red as a cherry tomato and you realize, to your horror, that you've just walked in on the crown prince and his consort!

You are too embarrassed to attend the ball. Game Over. Better luck next time!

lol sounds like the beginning of a great romance webcomic. also I think that would be a good sign. if the prince hasn’t entered, technically the ball isn’t in full swing right? I’m assuming that this was a different room altogether that I entered. Either way, I did my best and am still totally embarrassed @Tubacabra

You walk down the steps and reach a set of magnificent double doors inlaid with gold. The doors open as you approach, and the doorman declares your arrival. "Announcing @Liv45 !" You dance an eye-catching waltz with the second prince!

Sorry I am late!

Here are the doors:

Nr. 1: Ancient oak with a glowing gem at its center, casting soft light. The silver vine handle spirals elegantly, with hidden hinges.

Nr. 2: Similar, but with faint runes beneath the surface and a gem that shifts between blue and green. The handle has tiny thorns.

Nr. 3: Almost the same, but mist swirls around it, and an emerald gem pulses with magic. The vine handle feels warm and alive.
