Wattpad has its own merits, as does Tapas.
My only gripe about Wattpad, is as someone who wants to learn French (it being one of my favorite languages aside from Japanese) is because the Francophones (and I mean this as lovingly as possible) tend to be a bit ... overly insular, it's hard to really even learn French.
Even people learning German from English, seem to find more people willing to partner up to learn that language.
While this isn't a complete killer for me, it makes it hard to build an audience on wattpad sometimes. By comparison, lets analyze the French speaking segment on Pleroma: the French speakers I know there are lay Mary Jane smoking New Zealanders man!
In short: Wattpad specifically seems to have certain pockets that are pretty insular.
But I've noticed the same thing on Tapas, back when I joined here back when Ink Blazers died. I felt like I knew people at Ink Blazers.
It was hard to find an artist, but now it's like "I can draw my own stuff now". So like, why bother doing comics here? I feel like me putting comics up, is sort of like me trying to learn French on Wattpad.
But generally I feel like there are a lot of good things to both websites.
Bonsoir!
