Jack Rivers, a troubled youth going nowhere fast, stumbles upon a mysterious graveyard circus that inexplicably only appears at night. From there, he encounters a cast of peculiar characters, all of whom are led by the eccentric and enigmatic Ringmaster...

Mine is a very odd, quirky little dark fantasy, but I hope it's interesting enough for someone here to take a look!

I made it to 5000 words! 5 more chapters to get to the episode minimum, but that's at least one part of the criteria fulfilled.

After a very late start, my participating entry in the Writer's Camp is up, and it starts with two whopping chapters.

That's a great accomplishment, AA. It's not even the end of March yet (close though). You managed to post your 5000 words before I actually posted my first word.

I'm hoping to have 19 chapters up by the end of the comp. Then once the winners are announced, I'll probably switch to twice a week updates or something. It depends on how many I have written by then (42 planned in total). For something I started up just for Writers Camp, I've gotten surprisingly attached to and pumped up about Jacaranda Street.

I'm past the 5000 word mark, and I've been writing almost every day this week! I can't believe I'm this far already! I'm so pumped. 5 chapters down, 5 more to go. Can't believe I'm already so attached to my characters

I've passed both the 5000 words and the 10 chapters limit! I can't believe I actually did, and on my very first try at publishing! Thanks again Tapas team for this event, and thank all of you guys for your advice on this thread and others. I love this community!
Just a bit a self-promotion, again, since evryone is doing it and I really need feedback (all the other stories I read so far seem so good and entrancing compared to mine)

Anybody wondering why there are novels in the list that start way before March 19th or is just me?

Some peoples just put the tag there to gain more viewers. I think the staff will eliminate those when judging the actual contest thought.

For some that date to the 18th instead of 19th, it's probably a timezone problem. For the other that go way before, two options : either they do it just to gain more view, either they scheduled it in advance...
Or so I think

Well, I'm one of those who have an earlier sunlight, and that's why I waited for my timezone to reach 20th march before posting anything.

Yeah I'm seeing some that started publishing in January XD and one that started publishing on March 14th so I dunno XD

There's also at least one that's an adaptation from a comic (which I'm pretty sure is against the rules) so I imagine some will be weeded out during judging.

Oh well some people may not have read the rules, or maybe they don't care and just want to increase their views and subs... To be honest I'm surprised there aren't more or them! This community is relatively honest compared to most

I just noticed there's some contest books in the New & Noteworthy. That seems pretty helpful.

I am very proud to say I managed to hit the 5000 word/10 chapter mark too. I'm gonna keep uploading daily though, since I think the 34 eps I have planned for the contest is still gonna end up being something like less than half the full novel.

So feel free to give it a look, there'll be plenty more after the contest is over.

I just now had an idea for a very different sort of cross promotion. My characters were originally developed to be the commentators in a peanut gallery comic. Give me a chapter of your novel, and I will put it through the Mystery Science 3000 treatment.
