Alright, so here goes my tidbit!
Something I really loved about the collab was to have Google Hangouts with other creators like @LittleEndian and @getsuart so we could screenshare while drawing. It was great to fuel motivation and help each other out if we could!
When I first rough'd the storyboard of my episode, I had included Attley in it, assuming that maybe @windy would only have her bump into Finch. Finally it ended up being a bit different, so to avoid repetition I changed the content of the first 3 panels, taking the opportunity to show Soot some more instead. I was a bit sad because I was quite pleased with how I drew Attley so I'm glad I get the chance to share this anyway in the end!
Other than that, well, my involvement in this collab was mostly in helping Cyndi to manage the project. I created some private discussion threads to list all the storyboards, WIP, final pages, title cards (in short all the graphic ressources created by everybody), and Google spreadsheets to keep track of everybody's progress and know who needed to be reminded of deadlines or not. Those spreadsheets evolved along on the go, getting more and more columns, sheets, links, etc... Without them, I think we would have many more issues to keep everything sorted out and organized. I didn't take a lot of screenshots because spreadsheets aren't the most interesting thing, and I had to zoom out a lot so not to have to patchup a bazillion screenshots, but here's how some of it looked like:
This one was for listing all the creators, with links to their series, name on the forum, references of their characters and booth designs, and some more... things.
And this one was for the scenarios and to track the evolution of the gift's condition.
Overall, managing this project was a lot of stress and I often worried that other creators might be feeling like I was harrassing them. I'm still surprised they don't seem to be hating me after all of this. It was great, though, and if it were to be redone, I would redo it, but with even better spreadsheets. I think Cyndi and I learned a lot from this, and that's really awesome.
Another thing I really want to mention is that one of my friends composes music and created two themes for the collab, which is absolutely awesome:
and
She worked so very fast on those and the quality was so amazing! I listened on those themes on loop while doing my pages so to be in the perfect mood!
She's planning to start taking music commissions =)
