Yooooo Thank you so much for the little write up Cyndi, its so beautiful. I love it so much oh mannnn.
I had a really good time doing the winterfest. It was a fun experience and I appreciate the heck out of being able to work on a big project with a ton of other artists!
Lets talk about artistic choices, because if you've read Apoppytheosis it doesn't ///look/// the same as the winterfest episode.
In Regular updates of Apoppy I'm inking traditionally and alternating the same color palette on the entire project. In the winterfest special I wanted to go for more of a Rudolph the Rednosed Reindeer feeling because thats like my whole childhood and I wanted a fun challenge. I even made a little Kayden doll (incase I wanted to add any stop motion, instead I just did a cute photoshoot)

I would have made a Hezekiah and Anthony doll, but unfortunately I couldn't find anything that I could have used to make Hezekiah's hair with. (I used bits of a black grocery bag for Kayden's hair)
ANYway, the TL;DR of why it looks different from the regular comic is because I wanted to try something different for a second, and I had fun doing it.
Uhhmmm If you guys would wanna know more about the making of the KAYDEN DOLL I can elaborate on the process and I took pictures while making it!
