Team Tapas or Team Webtoon?

Perhapes? But I only work on my iPhone and can't find a good converter? I always end up with JPEG and not JPG
So I just stay at Tapas for now.

Although if I were to upload a comic again, I would do it in scroll format for webtoons and page format for tapas.

Even if it's the first website where I consistently started to read comics, I've pretty much given up using Webtoon lately.
Censorship issues, the focus on a format I don't like at all, the fact I can't think of a comic that I read there that I can't read somewhere else, my own comic doing the worst on webtoons (actually even worse than on non-comic, non art-places!).. well, it's not really engaging.

But I'm not one to get discouraged in a few months, so I'll continue posting there. But for sure not my favorite.

I'm on both, and Webtoon has a bigger audience who are more vocal buuuuuut...

Tapas at least tells you when someone sends you a comment. It at least makes it simple and easy to communicate with your readers and fans. It doesn't make you feel totally alienated from them and put on a pedestal.

If tapas had as many users as webtoon it would literally be no competition at all.

I mean, both have their equal gripes, I'm not gonna lie. But for making an effort to combine comics, novels, and ways to gain tips, as well as scheduling your works and allowing buffer ON buffer.... I'd go with Tapas. At least until another option comes to play and blows Tapas out of the water.

While I do like the PNG formatting for Tapas and have better comments with each page I present, I'm going with Team "I need to build an audience period".

Nope. JPEG is like the JPG 2.0
And Webtoons do not support that

All my files that I upload to webtoons are listed as JPEG though? There hasn't been a problem.
And saving functions in programs list it as jpg and jpeg interchangeably.
Weird.

Tho regardless I wish Webtoons just allowed .png :'')

I use both, though with webtoons I convert my comic to a vertical scroll format, so that can be a tad annoying at times. It's also a bummer there is no schedule option with webtoons, but I do get more subs and stuff on there.

Team Tap for now, though I'd like to eventually graduate to "Team Both" xD

As is, Tapas has much more & nicer features all around (stats, forums, profiles, scheduling, etc.) and I have several times more subs and reader interaction here, so it's a no brainer for now.

But I feel like I just haven't hit my stride on webtoons yet and like to believe that someday I'll pique the interest of some of that larger potential audience lol

you can use the croppy extension, I know it works for ipad, so I assume it works on iphone as well.

EDIT: Croppy Extension now ALSO works on Tapas. Same bookmark works for both websites, so if you already made the bookmark you can start using it for tapas as well- you just may need to close and reopen your browser completely before it will work- you'll know it works when the popup says tapas and webtoon(not just webtoon). To answer the question of which site has more pro's. Ehhh I dunno, I imagine there is a way to actually COUNT the amount of professional artists are on each platform, but I went with Webtoon, because if we look at line webtoon as a whole, there are multiple branches of it including the EN one, but also chinese, korean, etc. I imagine once you look at all their different branches they have more professional artists/comic creators overall compared to tapas.

The use of music and user interactivity is much better for Tapas. When people comment on Tapas I feel like more often than not they have something to say but Webtoon comments on the other hand are just... ugh. But you get more traffic than Tapas and the audience is much more varied. On here the Audience seems to mostly go for BL or SOL like a bunch of hungry piranhas while on Webtoon there's plenty of people who go outside those genres, but that within itself created the unexpected plus of the Action and Mystery genres having super genuine and tight-knit communities on the lower end of the view count.
