Ok I'm gonna flex my Stardew Valley knowledge as someone who pulled through my farm through the 2nd year, almost 3rd, and has had another farm before that, lmao. (PS these are all my tips for players who don't want to use mods) (and I married Emily on my current farm and Harvey on my old one)
A chest should be one of the first things you craft.
When going into the mines, make sure you leave all of your tools except for the pickaxe and your weapon (I recommend the sword) and bring food. You lose energy very easily in the mine with all of the mining and you don't want to faint there, because you'll lose all your hard work! And first mistake I see whenever people start playing is that they don't leave behind the tools they don't need. You need the space, especially when you just started and you don't have any backpack upgrades yet!
When upgrading tools, I recommend upgrading the pickaxe and axe first. You use them more often than the rest, and they happen to use up the most energy when you're using them. Also when you have an iron axe you can go to the secret forest and harvest hardwood from there so NEAT
When doing the community center quests, particularly for the quality crops bundle, always put fertilizer on the grounds where you will plant the crops you need for it. Produce from the quality crops bundle are the ones which take almost half the season to grow (melon and pumpkin both take around 13 days to fully grow) and quality crops without the fertilizer are pretty hard to come by.
When you're not mining and you finished taking care of your farm, go fishing.
Almost everyone loves diamonds and prismatic shard. Except for Haley I think, she doesn't like prismatic shard for some reason.
Don't waste all of your coal and fiber on scarecrows. I wasted all of my fiber on scarecrows and realized too late that they actually have a HUGE range, lmao.
Here are the "Loved" gifts for the bachelors and bachelorettes that I can think of the top of my head:
Sebastian - frozen tear
Haley - Coconut
Emily - jade, ruby, amethyst, topaz, and other gems, cloth (I should know, she's my wife)
Harvey - Coffee, wine, and pickles
Shane - Beer and hot pepper
Leah - Salad
Elliot - Crab Cakes
Abigail - Amethyst
Not sure for Maru and Penny, sadly. I don't gift them often.
