Learned this about myself, but I made my first 'comics' when I was 5 yo. It was a superhero comic about a sentient acorn, body made of leaves "Acorn Man". Wild imagination since then. Took traditional art classes in middle school, wasn't that good, but discovered through video games that I liked Sly Cooper and remember teaching myself to draw from the game cover. (Yep, guess that's my origins as an anthro/furry/feathery artist.) Drew characters from that series for a while(but never showed them cause I didn't know deviantart existed) until I stopped drawing in my twenties. Got interested in all things 3D animated and taught myself how to model/rig. Animation was difficult, especially with the hardware/software limitations and kept building for projects that never worked out.
Through college, I took some art classes(advanced tremendously), and made a 3D animated short that burned me out so bad that I stopped the 3D for a few years.
Now, what got me back into comics was discovering Tapas, and reading comedies like Erma and the Little Trashmaid. Got the idea for my own "Friar Chicken" back in 2019, when staying with my uncle.
He and my mom were talking about 'fryers' and 'broilers' and me, being naive and clueless suburban girl thought for a split second that it was spelled 'friars'. That silly moment there inspired my drama/comedy and I got myself a tablet to draw it. Worked on it for almost 4 years, started publishing early this year. Got other ideas that may or may not make it here, but I'm focused on just this series for now...
(Sorry, that was a long read, but I hope you enjoyed it!)
