Fff honestly? I haven't really talked about my antagonist, Daniel. It's kind of a habit from when he first showed up he was a "twist villain" sort of? Like, I didn't try to hide that he was a bad guy, I just had the story play out and let my readers decide for themselves, which brought a mix of interesting opinions. (Until the latest chapter.) I didn't talk much about him because I didn't want to affect my reader's viewpoints, unless that viewpoint was WAY off base, so even though he's now pretty much showing his true colors I don't bring him up much out of habit.
He's not the most memorable guy either, the most that set people off about him was the sweater vests, and how well-adjusted he seemed compared to the rest of my cast who are all train wrecks. Other than that he's just some white guy who dresses nice, and keeps his hair kept for the most part, charismatic-ish, kinda conventionally attractive, kinda not. Although I did want it like that. Given the nature of the story I wanted to have an antagonist that represented that a bad person can be found in anyone, doesn't matter how ugly or good looking they are, what age they are, how they dress, how charismatic they are, anyone is capable of being a complete monster.
Also I guess in a way I don't really want to talk about him. He's loosely based on some internal struggles and my dad (Small bits of other things gathered from casual studies of abusers/assaulters/murderers and general criminal psychology.), and man I don't even want to think about those! Especially my dad. So I don't talk about Daniel.
