Hurry, there's no time to explain, read this short story if you want to live!
Jennifer was a average girl who just had turned 18 a few days ago. She was the type of girl who preferred to spend her time lost in fantastical stories, whether in books or movies. She loved the idea of placing her self in the shoes of a beautiful elven woman with a perfect body and be ability to cast powerful spells. As she walked towards the bus stop on her way to work, she was deep in thought about the latest book her friend gave her. The book was about a girl who became a witch and had to figure out how to use her dark magic but-
Suddenly, she was jolted out of her daydream as she felt something hit her hard. It was a car that had lost control and hit her on the sidewalk. Jennifer was thrown several feet and landed with a thud, her head hitting the pavement.
Jennifer slowly opened her eyes and found herself in a room that was pitch black, yet dotted with stars. As she looked around, she saw a black cat standing in front of her. The cat wore an array of shimmering jewelry that seemed to sparkle even in the dimly lit room.
"Hello Jennifer," the cat spoke in a melodic voice that echoed around the room. "My name is Lady Beatrice, and I am here to thank you for saving my life all those many years ago."
Jennifer's eyes widened in shock. She couldn't believe what she was hearing. Lady Beatrice continued, "You may not remember it, but you saved me when I was in grave danger. I have been watching over you ever since, and now I wish to reward you with a way to stay alive."
Beatrice looked at Jennifer with a glimmer of hope in her eyes. "Jennifer, do you want to enter a tournament?" she asked.
Jennifer felt a jolt of excitement course through her body at the thought of having a chance to live again. "Yes, Beatrice, I'll do it," she said without hesitation.
Beatrice smiled, her eyes gleaming. "Excellent! I knew I could count on you, Jennifer," she said. "The tournament will be a test of your skills, your cunning, and your bravery. You will be up against some of the most formidable opponents in all creation, but if you win, you will be granted anything your heart desires."
Jennifer felt a mix of fear and determination. She had always been a fan of fantasy stories, but she had never imagined that she would be a part of one.
Beatrice told Jennifer that she only has 59 seconds to join the tournament and pick a weapon. As Jennifer frantically looked through the room, she notices that all of the best weapons have already been taken. Feeling discouraged, she notices a small, ordinary-looking candle sitting on a shelf in the corner.
Beatrice tried to encourage her to keep searching, but Jennifer had a strange feeling that this candle was the right choice. She picked it up and immediately felt a sense of power radiating from it.
Beatrice looked at the candle in disbelief, but then realized that Jennifer had made a wise decision.
Jennifer felt a surge of excitement and confidence as she realized that she had been given a powerful weapon, even if it may seem common to others. She thanked Beatrice for her guidance and prepared to enter the tournament with her new weapon in hand.
Just then, a menu system appeared before her, offering her various options for her new life. She saw, Humans, Angels, and many more species, however to her dismay, the only option available to her was that of a dirty swamp otter.
"Are you kidding me!?" D:
Jennifer felt a sense of despair wash over her. How could she possibly participate in the tournament as an otter? She had been counting on a more powerful and versatile form to help her win.
With a few seconds remaining, Jennifer reluctantly accepted her fate as an otter and placed her hand in the screen.
"Congratulations! You are now a Swamp Otter."
