For readers: Have you finished all the mafia ABO novels? Have you scorched the earth and devoured the last system transmigration novel that fits your taste? Do you know every fantasy prince on this website?

Then, look here! What if the authors wrote something different for you to try out?

For authors: You're writing a novel and then you realise: oh, shi... this is not marketable at all! No popular tropes, no tiny omegas, no espers or vampires, and even zombies are weird! How will I find readers!?

Share your story here! What if some seasoned reader looks exactly for your kind of unique soup?

Hi everyone! I'm sure I'm not the first one to create such a topic, but let's have fun!

As described, this promotion space should be a nice place for authors to share and readers to find something that doesn't follow the popular tropes. By that, I don't mean the works shared must be incredibly niche, just something that you would rarely find on trending pages.

Disclaimer!

In no way is this intended to be a place for discourse! Writing and reading the most cliched works are both respectable endeavors. Things are popular because they're good, plain and simple. The more there are mafia alpha bosses, the more they inspire the writers to put their unique twist on that. And any reader who knows what they like will look for what they enjoy.

I'll shamelessly start with promoting my own novel, of course.
It's a secondary world fantasy BL romance set in slavic-coded lands. Character-driven with wartime politics, enemies to lovers (rivals to enemies to forced allies to... there are steps, okay) and eventual power couple happy ending. It mixes dark topics with some humor, relies on worldbuilding and, hopefully, has tropey enough main characters to hold your attention

Gonna check yours out, I do like when enemies to lovers has steps to it lol and your series description looks cute and funny!

Mine is set in a world where the villain won, and features a nonbinary sapphic mage fighting to change the world into one they want to live in. It's got a bit of a slow start in the service of character foundation, but tension ramps up I promise.
Included among the tropes are: friends to lovers, love at first sight, enemies to lovers (side pairing), light/dark, and evil empire.

I'm writing a historical fantasy BL that is based in the ancient east asia (joseon era). It mixes with dark fantasy, slow burn, eternal yearning, reincarnation and also a bit of murim.

This kind of genre may be famous in other sites but I haven't seen much of it here in this platform.

My story is in the Slice of Life genre, which looking at the category seems to not be very popular or have much consistency in what readers can expect to find...
Something that could be considered unique would be that the story tries to convince you that the main character's life is beyond boring. But, hey, everyone would assume what they're used to as normal would be boring...
As the author, I strive to properly convey that balance between Ever's belief that their life is boring and things not actually being as they seem.
-There is at least one LGBTQ+ relationship revealed in the future
-Some of Ever's behaviors and actions are based on my own experiences with depression and being an introvert
-There will be interactions/relationships that are only healthy in the context of the story. I would like to emphasis that some of the things I have planned for future installments would be extremely toxic in the real world
- intended vibes are cheap grocery store smut if written by someone whose idea of steamy is a math textbook
-There are no "good" people in it, only messed up and broken characters who are going through life best they can in their own way.
- Tropes prone to be like chocolate in a candy store... It's not the whole story, but there is enough for everyone
