Ooo sounds fun! I'll do it for Max and Rei from Reus
1. What is your full name?
Max: Maxene Elizabeth Alistair. Please, just call me Max.
Rei: I'm glad you asked! Unlike someone I know. Rei G. Nebel, at your service.
2: When and where were you born?
Max: on April 1st, 19 years ago in Regaia, URR.
Rei: October 17th is as good a day as any to celebrate a birthday. I'm from Brumelle in Nuage, the cloud lands.
3. Who are/were your parents? Names, occupations, personalities, etc.
Max: My Mom is the current head of the family and the Chief Regaian Protection Officer. She's smart, strong, independent, and commands respect from everyone, even criminals. I wish I could be more like her. My Ima is a holistic nurse...or she was. She doesn't do it as much as she used to. She's very kind and sweet. She knows what it's like to be looked down on by others, so she accepts everyone for who they are.
Rei: Growing up, I rarely saw my mother...I was raised by my dad and aunts and uncles, mostly. It's not that my mom didn't care about me...she's just a free spirit. They say I resemble her, but I don't see it. I think I look more like my dad. He's a little difficult to be around for some people...he's easily misunderstood. He cares too much. As for my aunts and uncles, they're a colorful bunch who don't always agree on the best way of doing things. It makes for awkward family reunions. They all mean well...but the road to hell is paved with good intentions.
4. Do you have any siblings? What are/were they like?
Max: Nope! I'm an only child. People often say "that makes sense.." when they find out I'm an only child, but I'm not sure why.
Rei: I have a sister.
5. Where do you live now, and with whom? Describe the place and the person/people.
Max: I live in my family estate. It's in the Wood district of town. It's a lavendar house with gold accents. There are too many rooms considering that I'm the only one living there at the moment. There used to be staff who lived with us but...well, I told them all to go be with their families. It's a long story.
Rei: I live in the Displacement center. It SUCKS big time. All the dispers sleep in a huge room full of beds. We don't even get the same bed every night. In fact, these days you're lucky to get a bed at all. During the day, you have to either take all your stuff with you or reserve a locker. If you don't have an ID card, you can't venture too far outside the ghetto either. THANKS, Regaia, for your endless hospitality.
6. What is your occupation?
Max:...I work for a division of police. You could say I'm a police officer...but technically you'd be wrong. As soon as I enter the Sun age of adult life, things might change for me but...well, hopefully Mom will come back and...I'd rather not talk about it.
Rei: Believe it or not, I have a job! I'm a magical affinity reader. It really does matter, no matter what the unbelievers say.
7. Write a full physical description of yourself. You might want to consider factors such as: height, weight, race, hair and eye color, style of dress, and any tattoos, scars, or distinguishing marks.
Max: People say I'm an usual mix, but I guess I come from an unusual background. In any case, my existence is proof that what they say about certain affinities not mixing well isn't true!
height: 5'5" (1.65 m)
weight: slender, 120lbs (54 kgs)
race: I have a fire and wood affinity. (author's note: by our standards, Max is mixed race. Almost everyone in the world of Reus is, though, so it's hard to say what race she is. She's mostly Caucasian, with some African and Asian heritage as well.)
hair: red
eyes: green-blue
style of dress: functionally flouncy
distinguishing marks: I have very pale freckles, but it's been raining so much lately that they don't really stand out. I have a bad habit of figetting with my hair when I'm upset about something, so my hair tends to be frizzy.
Rei: Ugh why are you people so focused on appearances? By the light of Keallach, I swear, these questions will drive me to an early grave. But if you really must know...
height: 5'11" (1.80 m)
weight: athletic, 170 lbs (77kg)
race: I'm nuagian...I have mostly air affinity. (author's note: Rei is also mixed race. He's native american, persian, and caucasian)
hair: it's very dark, isn't it? winks
eyes: golden...something?
style of dress: newsboy meets engineer meets count. I don't know.
distinguishing marks: I wear a gold earring in my left ear. It's a memento from my dad.
8. To which social class do you belong?
Max:...well...technically...well, I'd rather not answer this one.
Rei: there are no classes where I come from, but I've been relegated to second class citizen aka "displaced person" now that I'm in Regaia.
9. Do you have any allergies, diseases, or other physical weaknesses?
Max: I was sick literally ALL the time when I was little, but one day I just got better. Mom says it's thanks to Ima's medicine, but Ima says it's because of Mom's fiery determination. I think I just grew up.
Rei: I don't do well in the sun...guess I could be allergic or something.
10. Are you right or left-handed?
Max: right handed
Rei: usually I use my right hand, but I can use either if I have to.
12. What words and/or phrases do you use very frequently?
Max: Justice! And anything justice-related. I talk about the vigilante a lot, too, I guess...
Rei: "Is that so?" it's a perfect response for almost anything.
13. What do you have in your pockets?
Max: I don't have any pockets.
Rei: secrets...Just kidding! I have normal stuff. Like sextants and a left-hand hook.
------------------------- Part 2: Growing Up
15. How would you describe your childhood in general?
Max: Like I said before, I was sick a lot. Other than that it was fine, I guess. I didn't have a lot of friends. I was homeschooled and missed the chance to make friends elsewhere. I was close with the chef, though. He always snuck me cookies.
Rei: it feels like a dream now. An endless, timeless dream. I'd like to go back.
17. How much schooling have you had?
Max: I was homeschooled, and after I stopped getting sick I tried to enter the police academy so I could be an "official" cop, but sometimes things don't work out how you want them to. Ima wanted me to go to univeristy, but I'm not patient enough for that stuff. I can read ancient pretty ok enough, so that's fine.
Rei:...school, huh? I'd rather not say. Let me put it this way: I know a lot of things that you can't learn in a school.
19. Where did you learn most of your skills and other abilities?
Max: My mom and Ima! Mom taught me all the combat stuff I know, and Ima taught me the other less-fun stuff. Like math.
Rei: from the school of hard knocks. And my Dad.
21.While growing up, how did you get along with the other members of your family?
Max: the three of us were close as could be. I'd do anything for them, no matter how dangerous or foolish.
Rei: I got along with them for the most part. I'm pretty easy going, and if I had a disagreement with any of them I'd just go away and do my own thing. I guess I get that from my mom. My Dad always listened to me if I needed to talk, but I never really got close to the rest of my family. They aren't good at just listening. They probably haven't even noticed I've left...
22. As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
Max: I wanted to be my Mom! And then a police officer.
Rei: I wanted to just relax and travel around. I didn't want to be anything. Life had other plans for me, I guess.
26. When and with whom was your first kiss?
Max: K-k-kiss?? Who's asking? WHy do you WaNt to Know??
Rei: ...why would I remember something like that?
author's note: I didn't answer all the questions because some of them just don't make sense within the context of the story or were too spoilerific.
