I apologise if that's how it came off, since I've already made points above how specifically in anime a lot of these things get lumped together into nasty stereotypes. Posting right after the response to me may have lead to me assuming that was also in response. I'm sorry if that was not the case. I'm perhaps a little one edge from realising "people have different interpretations of the same character" seems to be a controversial stance to some people. I apologise for that. Especially since my basic point is that it's complex and people see themselves in all sorts of different character presentations and it isn't black and white.

Sure you can but that's real life not a fictional character and there's a difference called personal interruption just like there's a difference between canon and headcanon.

This is also just a strong argument for not leaving things ambiguous in your works, but stating representation clearly as a creator and being intentional.

I'm not sure why you have a problem with me suggesting that some people read their own situation or similar situation or traits in a character and so read them as like them?

I never said that? I even agreed with you.

EDIT: I thought about it and I think I realize where the misunderstanding happened. I never meant to say or imply that people can't have their own thoughts about a character (I don't think policing anyone's thoughts is okay at all to do). I meant it more so in some applications. Like if you want to write a fanfic where trap character is actually trans, I think that would be cool and totally something anyone can do. If you're having a more serious discussion or writing a review or an article about a show though, in those cases I would say using the correct terminology matters.
