The importance of drawing every day (spoiler: it's not just to improve!)

I saw this video today and found it to do a lovely job explain one of the hidden joys of art, namely that it changes the way you see the world. I don't sketch as often as I used to since I mostly draw digitally now, but this video reminded me of how much I miss just sketching for fun!

Wow.....that was a whole different but super deep way of explaining why. But I enjoyed it.
I've never really sketched much because I'm not fast at it yet, those probably go hand in hand, so I often take photos so that I have the reference for later. But I think I'm going to try to do both. Take a quick photo but then sketch the rest until it's gone. Like the sunsets I'm always photographing.
