this is a super interesting thread because I've been thinking the same thing
many, maybe even the majority, of characters in my comic are lgbt+, but the comic is generally unserious and the lore isn't explored because of the nature of the comic. plus, the main character, Vainglory, is pansexual and polyamorous, but is also diagnosably hypersexual. although I know that pansexual =/= hypersexual, if you don't know I know that, it can come off as sort of a bad look, so I'm sometimes hesitant to share it in lgbt+ spaces even though the comic (and especially the extended lore) is very much oriented towards exploring non-heteronormative romance.
ideally, the real nature of the canon will become obvious when I begin to publish my longer comic with the same characters in the same universe - fewer gags, more romance-drama. in the meantime, funnee d&d characters curse a lot
