Awesome, thanks!

No problem! I read works sporadically until I catch up, so I'll randomly bombard you with likes. I hope you reach 250 subscribers soon! ^^

Maybe after one more targeted Facebook boost, we'll do it.
Thanks!
Still, I guess 240 in about two months is pretty good.

Since I love to draw but I'm not very good with comics, I decided to try doing visual novels during quarantine and I discovered a new and funny hobby! I've just released a small BL game for the spooky season and I'm working on two other projects that have demos right now. It was quite challenging because it requires more skills than just drawing, but the experience has been very fulfilling so far.

I sincerely want to learn more about making visual novels, for sure. It can only help with publicity. Any software pointers and examples you are really happy with? Your art is killer, btw.

Thank you so much for liking my art! <3 For coding the game I use the RenPy engine: https://www.renpy.org/ It's free and although it requires coding, it's very beginner friendly and straight-forward! (plus they have a clear documentation that explains the basics to code a simple game) You can see some examples of games made with RenPy on Itchio: https://itch.io/games/genre-visual-novel/tag-renpy

Other software that I use is Google Docs for writing the story (narration and dialogue) before copy/pasting it into the game's code, and Clip Studio Paint for the visuals. But you can replace both of these with any text editor / drawing software that you already use and you'll be good. For the music and sound effects I rely on Royalty Free stuff since I can't compose myself (although I'm interested in learning that too)

I thank you very much for this info. You're a very talented person and I imagine you can do anything you want to learn.

Thanks for the encouragement, it means a lot  I hope you can create amazing games!

Our work schedule during COVID:

Monday: Meh, forget it.
Tuesday: Do everything we were going to do Monday, but do such an ass-backwards job of it, resolve to re-do it Wednesday.
Wednesday: Finish everything that needed done Monday. Inform new clients not to bother us until Friday while we play "catch-up". Tell current clients, "Sorry to be a little late, COVID and all" which always works.
Thursday: Meh, forget it, too close to Friday.
Friday: Everything done as planned. We work best on Fridays because we don't ever want to work weekends.
Saturday: Work anyway because there's really NO PLACE we can go on the weekends.
Sunday: Our day of rest - except for any work we don't want to have to do on Mondays, because Mondays are "meh".

We bought two bags of Cheetos today.

We've been hearing lately of Cheetos shaped like certain things are actually pulling in major bids on eBay!

Why not, right?

Check it! A saxophone and a whale.

Well, it's a start...

I discovered Tapas, grateful ever since, though my wallet would disagree

Unfortunately, Jim's aunt didn't fare as well. :frowning:

She lost part of her apartment and two of her dogs drowned. I'm putting together a quick donation thing if anyone wants to help out with any money. I'm going to be sending all I get from Paypal to the artist's bank account in Xoom.

So, if you want to help out, you can use the paypal me link below:

All proceeds go to Jim's aunt to help her get through this. thanks everyone.

Getting a Christmas tree this Friday.
All of the Christmas parties we usually attend have been cancelled, but we're trying to put together a Zoom meet-up and we'd like to invite other comic creators to take part in one we organize for the Tapas bunch, where people can talk about their creations - a sort of mini-interview for everyone..

It could be a fun time. More deets as we get them, but for now, stay safe.
