I mean, I don't think anyone should discount our own opinions, as long as they're constructive in some way. Because really, this website largely operates off the traffic that the free-to-read creators bring in. We bring them traffic. We bring them ad clicks. And we do it all for free. So like... I don't think it's too much to ask that the website be usable when we're paying for it with our free labor?
Like please don't underestimate the power you all have in this situation. It's a lot. Because this website was literally built on the backs of free-to-read creators like yourselves, as well as the readers that they brought in, many in the thousands. When this webcomic website started, one of the biggest draws at the time was TheGamerCAT. You know, that super popular gaming webcomic that's been immortalized along with the likes of Penny Arcade and Awkward Zombie. Along with GamerCAT, it was HJ-Story, Fail by Error, Sarah Anderson's gag strips, Shenanigensen, among many many others that have gone on to be largely successful comics. Tapastic's earlier fame literally came from those webcomics, many of which were pre-existing prior to Tapastic and migrated over here and brought thousands of readers with them. And I know a lot of readers who only stick around because of comics like those, especially if they're comics that have remained Tapas-exclusive and haven't jumped around to other webcomic platforms like Webtoons and SJ.
So I agree that the community absolutely has more of a say in how things go, whether they believe it or not. It's just currently that 'say' is not in direct communication, but through your activity on the website and whether or not you choose for Tapas to continue to be a platform for you to upload to. Now that an open line of communication has been opened in the forums regarding the new update and other issues, I hope you guys just remember that you have more power than you think.
