I really love your style. It's simple, but captures the spirit and mystery of a grand adventure. Would definitely read more!

I've been considering starting a webcomic, and I'm working on the cover page. What I'd like to get an opinion of, is whether it's obvious that the rightmost eye in this image is supposed to be from a skull.

And if not, please tell me if this is better:

I'm working on a one-shot and I'm doing the drawing fully on digital. I realized after comparisons with my traditional work that the digital page is:
1. A bit more painful to look at
2. Doesn't seem to have as much impact/visual flow than the traditional.
Could someone point out why the traditional page seems better?

@monotone_ink to me it's just a case where I think you're used to doing traditional more than working fully digital. I'm the same way- when I ink traditionally my lines are more solid and I can get really fine/sharp points that I like. With digital, I'm still struggling with control, where all my lines dont come out exactly the way I would like- but right now digital is saving me a ton of time, process, & money on art supplies.

In time your digital work will get to the level that you like, you just gotta be patient & persistent with it.

Since I'm now officially done with the 1st chapter of Ray Thunder, I've trying to experiment with my coloring style. I somewhat like the way I've been coloring, but I've been MASSIVELY violating the "shadow/light" rule(using black for shadows & white for light- no matter the scene). Ive been wanting/trying to sit down & learn more about colors/light & shadow, so Ive been keeping certain tips in mind that I've come across in the past.

I experimented with this pic using blue as the shadows(on a multiply layer) and orange as the light(on a lighter color layer); unfortunately, the orange light didnt look right on the jeans area so I removed it. Am I heading in the right direction? Does it look better/more vibrant than the original(though the light is coming from diff directions in each pic)? Just trying to find a starting point in which to moving towards making my color work stronger.

That's a good change, changing the shadow to blue - that's how most things are in real life.

You're in the right direction

Should the characters have mouths or no mouths?
The original idea was that their expressionlessness would add a strange touch to the comedy, but I'm starting to doubt myself.

I prefer the first one [it reminds me of some children books by the way] the atmosphere seems eerie, I like it ! ^ ^)b

I published today the first episode of my new series Dark&Lya and Fluff Division, is the pace good? I've already gotten feedback from a friend and it was positive :3 (not asking for advice on art, I'm currently training lining, so it's gonna get better, I'll ask for this in a few days/weeks :3)

There have been some ideas inside my head recently, but i'm still not sure how to execute it. Some stuffs also coming up so maybe i wont be doing these anytime soon. So everything i'd done was just some sketches. Would like to hear some input though.

@Ra_tifuu
The characters look nice, though the anatomy could use some work. Example, the girls head in the first panel is a bit too big for the body. The layout is a bit messy because I dont know which panel is the next one.
If you want it to look less amatuer-ish add some background and interesting perspective. Also, the lighting can help with the emotional depth.

I really hope you continue your comic and develop your characters thoroughly. Please dont break this heart of mine by making a cliche shoujo ai blush

Looking forward to see your comic on tapastic

Thank you
Yep it was just spur of the moment sketch, never thought of making panels and stuffs and i wasnt really thinking of a story lol. Before i knew it, i continued making the second page but then i'm lost. It's right to left btw
I usually play with tone, like on my previous manga panel practices. (http://sta.sh/21dref51zqe9)
But yeah tone or color, either need good skill to bring out the atmosphere.
Totally, anatomy is the first thing i should really fix. Thank you for the input.
It really helps smile
