Today is my birthday and I'm celebrating it the way hobbits do- by giving out the gifts at my own party!
In honor of my hobbit birthday, I've prepared some fan art for y'all. If you aren't represented here and would like to be, let me know (and I'll see if I can get to it later today/tomorrow. Today's a full work day for me, so it may take a minute, though). Feel free to @ me if you have a request, and I'll honor all requests sent in the next 24 hours!
In the meantime, I thought I'd kick things off with some fan art from these 5 beautiful creators (1 for each day in August until my birthday). After sitting down and digesting all of the different art styles- it really struck me how deep the talent pool is here (and the diversity of story found in Tapas). Thanks for doing what you're doing, everyone. Seriously. You all inspire me on a daily basis.
@migxmeg- Here is your fan art! I stink'n loved your April fools Day prank this year (and Elissa's line abut wishing she'd consumed some more wine before stuff got real). In general, your work is top tier and I love watching you continuously push your limits and boundaries on a daily basis. I'm pretty sure that one day you won't have any boundaries left. Thanks for doing what you do. You rock.
@allenT I love your style so much and I really dig your character work. I literally remember the exact moment you subscribed to my work and blessed me with a feeling of worthiness (not only because you were my first subscriber, but because if a creator who made something as good as your book could like my stuff, maybe I have a real chance in this world). Thanks for doing what you're doing. It's always a joy wading in the sea of zen that is your book.
@snowy Okay, a headless vampire (and his old-timey boxing moves) may be one of the best ideas for a villain ever (it gave me BIG time video game vibes to boot). I'm sure you already know how awesome and fun your characters are, but it bares repeating (and deserves fan art). Thanks for doing what you're doing.
@cedarbrushart The moment I saw your original panel from this scene, the urge to create fan art was immediate (and urgent). I love how your story washes over me "Like Water" with each update (sorry for the bad puuuuuun). There's so much care, tenderness, emotion, humor, and wonderful (/sometimes bizarre) imagery that make it such a great story.
@MerrowBros I love your casts' chemistry (and relative disfunction). When I first cracked it open, I was hit by how fresh your style was and enjoyed searching through every panel for your brilliant hidden jokes and Easter eggs. I guess I should have included one here too (and I would have if I was a smarter person), but maybe there is an Easter egg SOMEWHERE in the cosmos above Darrel and Spider (just not explicitly drawn out in this rendering).
And to everyone else on the Sketch of the Day thread- thank you for doing what you're doing. I love this thread so much and your work continues to inspire me!
