I've just realised one more reason, why I don't like the most of "romantic" creative works. I've understood it more clearly, when I've got acquainted with the definition of "demisexuals":
Briefly and roughly saying, "demisexuals" are the people, who feel sexual desire almost exclusively toward the persons, with whom they have deep emotional connection. I'm usually not into labels, but I will use this word further in this post just to be shorter.
I haven't know before, that this type of people have their own designation, but I've met them both IRL and as a characters of creative works quite often. And there is nothing wrong with them by themselves (IRL, I have a couple of friends like this). The problem is, in 99% of romantic creative works demisexuals are the only type of positive female characters. While if these creative works include characters with significantly different romantic/sexual behaviour, they are almost always either "rehabilitate"... or, if they don't, they are shown as a scum, whores and filthy animals L(° O °L).
I wouldn't have anything against it, if it wouldn't be literally everywhere...
Where are the girls, who consider sex just an entertainment and do it with everyone they like, with love or without it? Where are the girls, who thought that they are monogamous, when they felt a first strong passion to their partner, but then realised that they are not, even if they continue to love him or her? Where are the girls, who keep physical fidelity to monogamous lover not because they don't feel sexual desire for other people, but just because they don't want to hurt the partner? Where are the girls, who finally realised their needs and established honest open relationships? Ah, sure, they all sit in the "corner for bitches".
(if you have a guess that I listed some of my own "phases" here... yes, I did)
In most of "romance" stories, the girls (and sometimes guys), who cheat on their partners and make other sorts of stupidity because of "great love" are still "good", since "love" "justifies" it, so they still stay in demisexual paradigm. While not-demisexual girls, who try to be honest with themselves and their partners about their sexuality and needs, plays role of evil filthy bitches (if they are represented at all). And yes, I've realised that's one my reason why I don't like them (besides dullness, non-originality, lack of good female characters and just a low quality of most of "romance" stories in general).
The authors of these stories have a full right to write them that way as they want. The readers of the stories have a full right to read them and relate to them. But the "filthy bitches" also have a full right and all the reasons to dislike these stories. That's all.
Thx for reading yet another rant.
