Amidst a quaint little town surrounded by corn fields that stretched on for as far as the eye can see, sat a lonely train station. Clouds shielded the moon high above and cast an eerie glow upon the land, stars peeking out here and there to dot the night sky. Down below, a group of unfortunate passengers board the midnight train, not realizing it would soon become the longest ride of their lives.

Tara: * sits down at a long table inside the train's dining area, watching out the window curiously as other guests boarded * Finally, the vacation we deserve!

Min-Soo: Where are we going again?

Tara: Through the mountains.

Myung: In other words...you didn't read the brochure before booking the trip?

Tara: It looked pretty in the pictures!

Myung: * rolls his eyes * Whatever...

Announcer: Attention passengers: we will be departing shortly. Please make yourselves comfortable and enjoy the ride!

Mikey: pulls on his sweater a little, bringing his suitcases into his car that he shared with Devin and Joji I'm excited for this trip~! A sightseeing experience AND stops in some beautiful cities~!

Joji: grins happily, helping bring Devin's suitcase in with his own I hope their dinner car is as good as advertised. Doesn't it offer buffet-style dining?

Mikey: nods Yep~! A full buffet service restocked every meal time, with snacks included~!

Tonx grumbled Unser her breath as she struggled to pull the small suitcase on board before looking at her phone to see that Fife had messaged her.

Fife: Hi bear, how’s things?

Tonx: Meh. I’ll let you know when this thing gets moving. Still don’t know why you signed me up for this. A coupon to that all-you-can-eat seafood place would’ve sufficed.

Fife: we both know you can’t go back there after last time :joy: just try to relax. When was the last time you had a break to yourself?

Tonx: Eh. True.

_Putting her phone away Tonx slumps into a seat with a slight groan. Scratching her stomach, she pulls out a small bag of Oreos and opens them. As she starts popping them into her mouth, she hears someone else mentioning a buffet.

Tonx to herself: Och. At least they’ll be some good scran.

Min-Soo: * singing loudly and obnoxiously * "...he took the midnight train going anywhere!"

Myung: * runs over to the bar to get a drink * Please, I can't tolerate impromptu karaoke in this state!

Tara: We're singers, Myung. That's...our whole profession.

Myung: Just let me do my thing.

Tara: * rolls her eyes and glances out the window again * They're closing the doors. I guess we're leaving!

Carole and Loukas rushes into the doors before they completely close. Loukas carrying stacks upon stacks of luggage and Carole with a napsack of documents and papers

Carole: gripping tight on the closing doors Wait , you stupid train!

Lukas: hustling several large pieces of luggage upon his shoulders Well, I guess we did got a little lost . Did we.

Carole: breathing heavily gasping from air Don't start

Loukas:Fine.....told you so...

Carole: I said, don't start

Hide: walking up to the bar, hands free That was exhausting, time for a drink

Loukas and Carole: glares

Carole: I'll just help you with the luggage, Hide can do what ever the hell he want.

Tonx’s slightly flopped ears perked at the sound of more people before flattening against her head and finally burying themselves into her hair at the sound of the off-key singing. Her muzzle wrinkled slightly as she also approached the bar, but got a Shirley Temple. She hadn’t drank for five years and wasn’t starting now.

Tonx: This is gonna be a long trip... she eats more Oreos as she texts Fife that the train was about to leave.

Having returned from the bar, Myung took a seat beside Min-Soo, glass of whiskey in hand.

Myung: Hey, Min-Soo, why don’t you go get yourself something to drink? I’m sure it’ll make your singing even better!

Min-Soo: Really? You think so?!

Myung: No, but it might be entertaining to watch.

Tara: * sighs sadly *

Myung: What’s wrong with you?

Tara: I just miss Sunni! It’s too bad he couldn’t make it...

Myung: He’s been gone for a whole twelve minutes, Tara. Are we really that bad of company in comparison to Mr. Workaholic? You two remind me of my parents—so uptight all the time. I bet you even have a whole itinerary for us, huh?

Tara: * glances down at the paper in her lap * ...no.

Myung: Why don’t you try making some friends? Talk to some people? Your new best friend could be at any one of these tables!

Tonx taps her finger against the table as she eats her oreos, her empty glass next to her. At the mention of singing, she shuddered a little.

Tonx: Ugh, It's like the new years party all over again...

Devin: hums as he looked over the train trip options, tilting his head I kind of want to head to the dining car to eat... I hope they have mushy food for my teeth.

Joji: Oh right... your teeth aren't the best in the moment... I'm gonna guess that your fake teeth haven't come in yet?

Devin: shakes his head Not yet... hopefully they'll be home by the time we come back.

Mikey: as he finished cramming the suitcases under his bunk, huffing While y'all will be eating, I'll hit the bar. I wanna try some drinks they have on board. We can purchase bottles of them if we like.

Tara: * crumples up her itinerary and shoves it in her purse, sighing heavily *

Min-Soo: Isn't it strange to be eating dinner at midnight? This isn't a normal thing, right?

Tara: It's different, but I kinda like it. At least we won't be starving by the time we all turn in for the night.

Myung: I feel like our manager would kill us if he found out we were breaking our diet. Good thing he's not here~! * downs the whiskey in one gulp, wrinkling his nose after *

Min-Soo: * waves across at Tonx * Hello~! * turns to Tara * Is it weird addressing strangers here?

Tara: * shrugs * Probably, but I've heard it's common in the States...at least in the south. Southern hospitality and all that jazz. Where I'm from, we keep to ourselves. I'm not sure about other countries and areas.

Carole: looks at the menu options before giving a heavy sigh Okay, Either you and I stay sober and Hide gets wasted, and it would be a boring trip for me, Or I and Hide gets wasted and you deal with everything else.

Loukas: just finished placing the luggage appropriately in their places You do know if you want to sleep this entire trip you can do that with out alcohol.

Hide: bouncing up out of nowhere holding a flask of Spice rum Not all of us are boring light weights like you my beautiful boy. Plus have you seen the guests at the bar. We got to meet with them.

Loukas: Okay, okay, Im already done packing any way. I can never hurts to socialize with some dinner.

Announcer: Attention passengers: dinner will be served shortly!

Myung: Still weird, but okay. Wait, what's on the menu again?

Tara: * checks the menu on their table * Shrimp, crab, lobster, steak, and...well, everything. Lots of soups and salads, too.

Min-Soo: Sushi?

Tara: Eh, I don't think they have--nope, never mind it's on the next page.

Tonx looks over as someone waves over at her and she tilts her head a little before just lifting a hand back to reciprocate their greeting. She opens the menu to look at the selection and snorts a little as a couple of the others seemed confused about eating at midnight.

Tonx (moving a bit closer to the others): Pfft, 'strange to be eating' I'm normally three pizzas in at this point. Eh... speaking of there doesn't seem to be any here...

Myung: No pizzas, no burgers...just this lame, fancy food! I want pepperoni pizza!

Tara: Aren't you allergic to pepperoni?

Myung: All the more reason to want it!

Tara: * rolls her eyes * You're insane. I just want this chicken fried chicken platter with gravy and a side of mashed potatoes.

Min-Soo: What other activities do you think we'll have on this trip?

Tara: I don't know, I guess we can check the schedule in the morning.

Myung: I hope they have Bingo.

Tonx: Hm. Good thing I like steak, crab, prawns, lobster... Can't say I like salad.

Her ears perk at the mention of "activities"

Tonx: Aw naw, I'm no' doin' any o'that nonsense.

Carole: Why soo much meat?...
Hide: letting out a sigh as he sips his rum So its just salads, soups and alcohol for the two of huh?

Loukas: licking his lips I'll be taking the steak, crab, lobsters and maybe slow cooked beef with a glass of milk. Oh Maybe some fish and-

Carole: So everything that we can't or wouldn't eat huh?

Tara: * grabs the wine menu, sighing again * I wish Sunni was here to split a bottle with...

Myung: What kind are you getting?

Tara: White Zinfandel, my favorite~.

Min-Soo: Don't overdo it. We don't want another incident like last time--I can only handle getting banned from one place a year!

Suddenly, waitresses and waiters adorned in black and white uniforms march in, containers piled high with food being set out at a long empty counter.

Myung: And so it begins~...

As the others talked about wine, Tonx turned her attention to the food as it came out. She still finished her oreos first. A pre-dinner snack if you will. The dog-woman looked at the food, her nose twitching a bit as she could already smell it even though she was sitting a little further away. She got up and moved closer to the buffet, though this also meant being closer to the other diners.

Tonx: Hm. Well, without Fife here I guess I can cut loose a bit.

Trenton slowly inhales, awaking as he does to the sounds of shuffling feet and clanking metal trays. He leans forward to see that the food has been set out and that he slept through the first hour or so of the trip
Trenton: Bloody hell. Why didn't anyone wake me?
He looks over to see Suri sound asleep, her grey hoodie pulled over her head and her body leaned against the wall framing the window
Trenton: Of all the times for her to be asleep. :expressionless:

Carole: looking at the waiters as they brought over her fruit salad and tomato soup, served with garlic bread A fancy wine and dine by the looks of it. Hopefully when Loukas gets back here, he doesn't bitch about it

Hide: looks around at the other attendees after giving a flirtatious wink to one of the servers As I said interesting crowd. Of course some cuter than others, so about the activities-

Carole: If it involves teen party games, I'm out.
