Nov 2023

Whatever time off you take, enjoy it! We'll still be here. Or at least I will.

I already had like a 3 month vacay from drawing(September-November), so I don't mind working a little through Christmas. I'll still be spending time with family. Heck, maybe I'll finally tell them I'm publishing a silly/serious chicken comic online. We'll see how that goes...

Also, I really gotta get back into exercising cause I got fatigue issues as well. Did it a lot before I got serious about comic-making/art. I'll put that on my growing 2024 resolutions list, along with coping with a job IRL. Maybe cut back on sugar. That actually helped with my mood in the past.
At the very least, I can say this year was productive.
Merry Christmas/Eve and Happy New Year, if I don't see ya!

Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays everyone..! Currently up and trying to stretch myself into shape so that I can eventually get to cooking Christmas dinner(and brownies) so that I can settle down this evening and watch some stuffs while I try to get back to work on this art piece.

Spent yesterday watching a football game, cleaning my bathroom(was supposed to have done it Saturday but was too tired from my doctor's appointment & getting up early for said appointment), and watched a Christmas movie(A Christmas Story- one of my all time faves)...wrapped up yesterday grabbing some Waffle House for dinner- it was SOOO good.

Day after Christmas- finally just got up. Christmas dinner was good yesterday, gonna eat some leftovers in a few then start working on art stuffs.

Currently looking at new glasses frames- gotta try to grab some for my new glasses prescription in the new year...

Found out that I have enough funds in my benefits to get the glasses frames I want...I may get 2 just in case I accidentally break one(although I've had my old glasses since 2019 & haven't broken them).

It's back cold here; I was gonna try to do some last minute stuffs and try to move my storage to a new spot over the weekend, but I'm tired- and it's the New Year's weekend; just gonna chill...I'll pay the fee on this old spot ONE MORE month, but definitely switching spots before January is over.

So...I did a thing...

I logged on to my Tumblr account after all these YEARS.

I finished catching up to this thread! After being so busy with two art challenges in October and November, juggling other projects, I ended up feeling sick a lot through this month :weary: I’m feeling better for now though. I want to try to be more active here.

Sounds like you need to take it easy on trying to do too much. I used to want to "participate in all the things"- and kicked myself because I wasn't a fast enough artist, but over time I learned it was okay to not push myself to do so much because if I had, I'd be even more tired of everything art/art related, and burnout would've been even greater.

Up this morning/afternoon only coz someone was using a [leaf] blower and it was noisy af(seems I can't ever escape those things- LOL)- PLUS my left foot cramped up & woke me out of my sleep...I figured it was time to get up anyways and back to working on my piece; corrected the left arm to where I'm good with how it makes the piece look better- now I just gotta work on the right arm and then I can move on to the next penciling stage.

Happy 2024 everyone..!

Final day on vacation; it's back to work at the day job tomorrow...coming out of the gate tackling some financial issues, and then I gotta start trying to figure how to make this comic/art revenue thing really work for me this year.

Greeted by 5 circling storks (or pelicans, don't know) on my backyard sky. Made my day!

Made it to Friday...going to TRY to start inks on the piece I've been working on this week, but no guarantees; been feeling really tired the past few nights- last night it got really cold & I was so tired I was like "fuck it" and slid into bed earlier than I wanted.

Really tired this morning, but the promise of Chinese takeout awaits me at the end of the work day..!

In other news, FINALLY ordered my backlit keyboard(got an Am*zon gift card/credit from my boss for Christmas) so that should be arriving by Monday; gonna try to clear some more of this paper around my art station out of the way so that things will look more cleaner/organized & I can slide the keyboard under the stand that the laptop is sitting on.

Always can do better work when you are well rested..!

Started inking on the piece; will continue to attack it as much as I can...I do need to pause to get some more ACNH play done- as well as make an errand trip to the grocery store to get more laundry detergent & trash bags(before it gets cold).

Today was my first attempt at trying not to slouch and while I think I’ve done a pretty good job, I don’t think my body is used to my posture being good so the trap muscles and shoulder blades hurt like hell and I’m currently lying down. I’ve always had bad posture since I was a kid but it’s only been recently that it’s come to rear its ugly head. The back of my head would hurt constantly, even when I was not drawing and it didn’t go away after sleeping. The set up I’ve had since April is no longer effective given that Ive had way more free time than I did prior to May. I did so a chiropractor yesterday and my check up appointment is a week from now so hopefully I’ll be able to keep my back straight even when drawing in between then and now

Recently being hard on myself for being always such a minimalist (designing wise) Sometimes I think my stuff feels so empty without design elements. A lot of times I hope to have a woman's touch so I can make those intricate design thingy (which I don't feel important in my minimalistic mind but they add so much warmth & fuzzy feeling) My design mind is so fixed on being to-the-point, couldn't handle working on those stuff! It would've help elevate my works so much :pensive: Sorry for the rambling, I was watching craft channels.

I've had bad posture since I was a kid too. Fixing it always felt impossible cause you can only force yourself to sit straight for a few minutes before tiring out/forgetting.

Finally, a year ago I started doing weightlifting for the first time ever. Stretching and strengthening my muscles helped way more than anything I'd tried before. Now unconsciously, I stand and sit with a lot better posture. If you can do any sort of strength training, I definitely recommend it.

Up this afternoon and back at work on inks- I got 50% of the piece done yesterday, and thinking of sneaking in some more video game play in later this evening/tonight. Right now I'm just gonna watch football and work on it...

Finished inking the piece- going to start colors tomorrow evening. Happy with how it turned out for the most part..!

Hoping this work week is bother free like last week...and that I can get my work done as efficiently as I need to.

Also my keyboard arrives tomorrow! Can't wait to nook it up so I can stop scratching my arms reaching up to type or having to stand & type.
