Early this year I worked for a couple of months on both the iOS and Android versions of a semi-popular app (5-10 million downloads). Decided to check in today to see how it was doing on Google Play/App Store after seeing Tumblr get flooded w/1* reviews after their no-NSFW debacle. And oooh boy. Rating has dropped 1.5 stars flat and everything recent is along the lines of "worst app ever".
Our team was super tiny (at one point it was just a senior engineer--who has since left the company--and I, a lowly intern) working on a pretty high complexity project as far as mobile apps go (w/incredibly tight deadlines), so, uh, I might have gotten more responsibilities than I should have and a lot of my very rushed code did not go through a strenuous review process. And uh, one major feature that I used to be responsible for might be the one attracting a lot of the ire. It's been a number of months since I last touched the codebase and I'm not sure who took it over, but I can imagine the rest of the team finally taking a good gander at the spaghetti I left behind and going wtfff was this bitch thinking
Well. Still not as bad as the intern who nuked the entire production database day one (though that's really on the company--not one I've been at thankfully)
