@DiegoPalacios Ok I'm gonna have to explain. gets pics
ok so I'm doing a teaching prof development class that helps us find ways to activate various areas of the brain t help students learn. It's pretty good stuff tho some of it is a bit odd (or frustrating) so I won't use all of it- which is fine. This idea is we can teach kids anything if we incorporate movement with audio and visual (visual can include mental images) and then review frequently so information goes to short term then long term memory.
One thing we learned to say is a technique (which I personally don't care for as it's annoying to me) we can use for students to learn a short list of things that must be remembered in order temporarily. I feel like it's a bit overly complicated but basicly you have numbers (1, 2, 3, ect) and you associate each number with a particular word and then make a gesture to go with it. We then created a pretend shopping list for a pretend party. I don't remember the whole list but the important ones were
1. Queso
2. Salsa
3. Chips
and 13. fajita.
So this is the overall chart and drawings of the motions as best as I could make them.
So we match up the item on the list with the number and word association and create a linking mental image.
So the teachers had 1. be "Sun melting cheese into queso"
3. was "triangle chips"
....2 the two instructors have different ones. one had (because you point to your eyes) gouge out eyes and put them in salsa. The other had just eyes floating in salsa while they ate it. (mine was just, salsa makes me cry)
13 was more scary to me. 13 is black cat (cause they are bad luck like 13 right?). So their image was... Black cat put on a hot fajita skillet and it couldn't get off.
...... I only have one more day.
