LATEST: At this point I dont know...bought a new 3 in 1 cable, connected it and I'm still having the same issues(drivers won't connect, windows is not reading/sensing the tablet, stylus doesn't work); I've reached out to support but I feel like they are about to take me on a ride with no solution- I sent them an email stating the issue and with my info(mainly the serial number for the tablet) and [within] the response was: "SeNd YoUr SeRiAl NuMbEr"

Did they NOT read the first email?

My core being is kinda screaming "screw this, just go get another tablet" but I'm in a position where my living situation is about to change, so I really shouldn't be spending out the monies right now but I NEED A TABLET since this one obviously isnt working. I have some bit of Amazon credit, but the tablet that I'm eyeing(older XP Pen) kinda reeks of the same issues...so I'm in this zone where I'm hesitant to because of the issues; I never had any issues with drivers when I had the old screenless Wacom- and I had that tablet for SIX YEARS before I upgraded(I gave it to a nephew)

I'm just really tired- and really frustrated.

I think people are simply afraid of what they don’t understand. Religion, while having very little empirical evidence, provides very simple and easy answers to complex problems. People don’t like feeling stupid so they reject what they don’t understand instead of learning it.

This is also coming from someone who is mildly religious (Unitarian Universalist)

Welp, I'm done stressing over the tablet- went ahead and ordered me a new one...getting the XP Pen Artist 22(I'm done with Huion until they start making their drivers more solid); should be arriving in a few days, so that I can get back to working on my art.

I decided to start a graphic novel, but production has been challenging. Particularly with the way I’ve decided to do it; no script, no storyboard, no under-sketch. So I’ve only made a few pages in a month; they look decent at least, and I was able to cut those pages up to format them into a webcomic--

I'm hoping that by not scripting/storyboarding/sketching, I can develop the ability to visualize and execute scenes on the fly. This project even started out as a throw-away test, but it's coming together quite well.. for now, at least.

The new tablet arrived; hooked it up and it looks like I'm back in business! The stylus works, no wonky ass drivers- now I just gotta open Clip Studio and practice some scribbles..!

Made it to the weekend and started on a new piece last night, so I'm still trying to figure it out...had to make some minor adjustments on how the tablet works on Clip Studio(coz the cursor's a bit off), so the lines are looking better.

Gotta do laundry and then go grocery shopping- and after that, I can sit down and work on some art!

I had started working with someone I’ve known for years on an upcoming comic, but I realized it would take us a lot of time (we estimate more than a year to finish drawing the comic). Personally, I don’t have time for that; my previous project made me realize it would be a very complex endeavor. My partner collab suggested the idea of starting to write it as a novel instead, and we’ll include illustrations made by me. She is writing most of the story, and we’ll focus on editing and revising it once it’s finished. I will handle additional details, and we’ve been very fair in distributing our tasks. The good thing is that we already have the script completely written, and we know how it will end.

No work these days, deciding to get a more powerful 14" used laptop... I'm a little tech savy & all the specs searching & price hunting is draining me. That dopamine kicks

I know that feeling when I bought my new laptop back in 2022; you want better specs than the last one, but then you have to start playing "do I want a more powerful processor and bigger HD but shitty RAM, more powerful RAM and bigger HD but shitty processor speed, or more powerful processor & RAM but shitty HD size?"

And for me, I wanted to stay at 17" laptop size- and under $800 bucks

Welp it's finally settling in- I got approved for financing to buy a house! I'm happy, coz we get an opportunity to get something a little spacious; currently renting a home and the owner decided to sell...I'm TIRED of moving; I wanted this move to be the LAST one, and while I got my art station finally the way I want(to a certain degree) I wanna add the printer and cutting machine so that I can print my own stickers and I don't have enough space for that.

Also this [current] place has its issues- it's drafty as fuck, my room is the coldest room in the house in the fall/winter(unless we're running the heat a little more than 60% of the time), the doors to the outside have gaps where cold air is coming in, or cold air is escaping in the summer when we're running the a/c, the electric/breaker box is shitty and weak; I can't run a space heater over 600 watts or it knocks out the power in half the house(which is why we run the heat a good bit in the winter), and the house uses a septic tank toilet system instead of a public sewage system...plus the plumbing is crappy with the tub in the main bathroom.

And adding on that, it's an old 1960s home and aside from the master bedroom, the other bedrooms are too small...I could've added the printer and cutting machine in the apartment we had before we moved 2 years ago- that 's how much more space that room had; I had to disassemble my desk just to get through the door(into my bedroom) here.

So yeah, I look forward to moving to a BIGGER spacious place that I can call my own...

UPDATE: Doing the birthday weekend thing...went out yesterday and looked at places- the 2 places that we really wanted to look at got yoinked off the market at the last minute so we looked at 3rd and fourth prospects, which turned out to be shit prospects. We looked at a 3rd which was nice but was in an HOA program(NOPE!)

The last one we looked at- the neighborhood isnt the best BUT the house was surprisingly NICE...spacious and you could tell the owner put some degree of work into it to make it presentable/sellable; so we're waiting to see what the owner is going to say about knocking a few dollars off...

The experience got my anxieties up a little bit coz it seemed like things were moving a little faster than I anticipated, but I calmed down and looked at the aspect that if this does go quick, we'll have a good bit of time to pack and move and not rushing on the final day.

I think with some of the stress and anxiety wearing off, I was able to start working on a small piece with one of my OCs...so I'm glad I got my art mojo back.

Really bummed that the chinese scroll format webcomic 'Twelve Souls' no longer be in Tapas. That comic's art & fight scenes are so damn incredible.

UGH...almost everyone in the house is SICK(except me); I hope I don't get it- I can't afford to right now- not with the house hunting that we have to do...plus I'm trying to reserve off days until it's time for us to move.

Was able to calm my brain down again to work on my art some more this weekend, plus I had a doctor's appointment...surprisingly/weirdly by blood pressure reading was normal(despite the house stuff going on).

For all who need a pep talk

We found a nice/decent place, so we're headed towards the final stages of securing it...I ended up GETTING SICK 3 weeks after everyone else- been trying to take it easy and will myself to make this a short sick spell; I need to make sure everything goes through and then there's packing(which I'll start this weekend).

I havent started any new art stuffs coz I dont want to lose that momentum with the move...

Survived 2 days without internet (telephone pole problem), I'm now back online
