The watercooler: a place to chat

[cila_the_great]

Hey man. I get it! 🤣🤭

But it’s sure great anatomy practice. I have books on that stuff. ️

[feuersichel]

The books from lensing?

[cila_the_great]

Eheheheh!! I wish! unfortunately no. It was one I got from Barnes and noble

Also drew some… Abbdini snogging 🫪

(Blushing) ohhh myyyy

[feuersichel]

They are so cute! gotta learn, how to draw kisses, although my charas aren't near that phase... Jet ^^

I’m really testing out these mismatched detachable collars on Miss Martin today. This is actually a thing in Edwardian fashion. Maybe she couldn’t find a clean one who knows. Since she wears the regular plain one a lot. I haven’t had her have a blue blouse yet, but maybe this light blue detachable collar would give me the opportunity ️

[cila_the_great]

Kissing is haaaaard. I can’t lol I can’t even get them to mush their faces together none of my characters even. They are drawn like Lego people

[cila_the_great]

This is probably my best one in my collection I’ve drawn but kissing has always been my favorite thing to draw. It was much harder when I was younger obviously but I just looked at a lot of anime kiss tutorials when I was younger.

[cila_the_great]

Oh. So you’re writing a romance too then?
Hehe.

So got in the replacement LED hex lights and the wall controller and the remote works(even though the box was busted open inside the Amazon package- it MADE me have to test them out)...also got in the game as well. I'll put up the lights this weekend- as well as finally put the cord fixtures on the rod lighting.

Been thinking about loading the Music Bee player onto my laptop, then getting my Zune player out of storage and copying all the music on it to one of my external hard drives so that way I can create playlists to work to outside of using Tidal(I stopped using Spotify); gonna do a little bit more research on Music Bee first before I green light that.

Read more of the book and now I'm about 80 pages away from finishing should finish it by Friday & then I'll snag the 2nd installment and read that...goal is to finish the 2nd installment by the end of the month coz between watching horror movies, football, and other stuffs in October I may not have time to read(gonna pick up reading again in November).

[feuersichel]

Yeah but it's slooooow

[Shanny8]

Finished reading the book- giving myself a pat on the back because like I stated earlier, I hadn't actively read a BOOK book in like almost 30 years and this year I've read 2 books(about over 600 pages); fam checked out the 2nd installment of the book series(they read my book over a weekend) so when they're not reading it, I might see if I can...I'm trying to finish out this series by the end of the month coz like also stated- I'm gonna be watching spooky movies, football, and other stuffs all month in October; not gonna have time to read.

I don't want to do any yard work this weekend but I might have to get outside and mow the front lawn...the back yard looks like growth is slowing down because we're about to change seasons, but I'll give it a mow before the month ends. I also have to re-up on bug spray coz these SPIDERS if one gets on me while out there I'll burn the yard down

Main plans this weekend: watch football/sports, put up the replacement LED lights, secure the cord for the LED light rods, & try to get started on figure #2(dragon boy) for the piece...trying to debate on his scale armor renders

[nathanKmcwilliams]

Well I decided to come back to the forums for a bit. Last time I did this I wasn't in a great headspace, hopefully I will stick around a little longer this time.

[Shanny8]

Welcome back...hope you stick around a little longer

[cila_the_great]

Yeah get that. It’s what happened to me with Instagram. I was spending way too much time on it more than I should have.
Sometimes it’s just good to step back and take a break.

[cila_the_great]

Speaking of which:

[Shanny8]

Started working on "dragon boy" on the piece; still kind of wrestling with whether I actually like the pose I selected, so I guess I'll keep on working on it until I get an over all assessment.

Didnt do the lawn this weekend- it rained Friday night/early Saturday morning in the wee hours, so the grass was still a bit wet; I dropped off the book at the library and now I'm waiting on fam to finish reading the 2nd installment so that I can read it.

Just been watching a lot of football this weekend; put up the LED hex lights- found out that the wall plug was also one of the culprits why the lights weren't working correctly- I switched it out for another one from an old phone that I had...I also put the cord holders on the LED light rod cords, so it all looks a little less messy.

Had to go get some fresheners for the bathroom & bug spray coz the Joro spiders are starting to become BAD(and we're almost out of our current bug spray); also cleaned the bathroom before I went shopping for said items, so I feel better that the bathroom smells fresh and clean

All this and back to a FULL 5-day week...ugh.

My new upright bass gets delivered this week.
It´s my first fully carved upright bass, I have only
been playing laminated / plywood basses all
my life.

I will only play that bass at home, the fully carved
ones are the more fancy instruments but they are
very sensitive to temperature and everything and
I don´t want to throw that bass into the car / van
like all my messed up basses.

[Shanny8]

I wish I had the time [and patience] to learn to play guitar...

Started reading book 2 of this series- gotten in 80 pages so far; I was trying to go for a little over 100 but I had to eat dinner and then watched a TV show that I've been enjoying...

Made an inadvertent purchase yesterday- some new work shoes, because for the past few weeks my left pinky toe has been feeling like it was cramped in my former shoe and has really been affecting me; I got half a size larger and now that my foot has a little more space it hasn't been as discomforting. Just a little pissed coz that money could've went towards a new pair of sneakers that I had been wanting.

Gotta pay off a couple of bills this week- CC and the internet bill; I'm most likely going to get the yard/leaf blower to get that out of the way so that I can blow the errant grass off the sidewalks and once the leaves start falling, corral those to dispose of as well(plus try to clear leaves & stuff out the roof gutters)...I won't get the chainsaw until after the new year in January or February

[PeteLensing]

I wish I had the time [and patience] to learn to play guitar...

Guitar was one of the first instruments I learned and it´s a great foundation.
I was forced to take over the lead guitar in one band this year

Made an inadvertent purchase yesterday- some new work shoes,

work shoes were always painful for me

[Shanny8]

work shoes were always painful for me

These shoes were comfortable(for the most part) but I think I erred in getting them in my [correct] size- sometimes work shoes can be tricky; I think with me getting older, my body is just slowly going out of whack...
