@joannekwan @VibrantFox @BobbyjoeXforgotensb @DiegoPalacios I have a feeling this is something they are looking into mainly for the sake of a few Premium comics?
For example, imagine this one as a game!!!
You know how some of the premium comics are korean imports? That's because entertainment spreads faster on a global basis these days. It only makes sense that Tapas would want to spread the content of tapas-based premium creators too, so that there's both import and export going on.
There's nothing to worry about, Tapas are busy as it is with their premium and internal projects. They don't have time to roam tapas low-sub comics looking for "ideas to steal". They also have no reason to do it. It would tarnish their reputation and kill most of their income, which is a ridiculous thing to do when they're growing just fine without turning to IP theft.
The article makes it seem like the other company will range it wider than this however; but even then, I doubt any IP theft will occur.
Believe me. There's no shortage of good creators willing to sign into a deal with Tapas. They have literally no reason to steal IP.
Skip the paranoia. Be excited! We're seeing the live development of webcomics rising to the same status as traditionally published media. How is that NOT an amazing thing?!
