The weirdest thing you ever discovered by accident?

You know when you're researching something for your story? Or when you're just googling something out of curiosity? And then you discover something totally unrelated and entirely new?

Well, a few days ago I was searching for blackberry bubblegum and I ended up discovering that's the name of a strain of devil lettuce.
And I still don't know if blackberry bubblegum is a thing or not. It probably is, but still, I can't be sure.

What about you? What weird things did you discover while researching?

I discovered that a crossover between a melon and a cucumber exists, the cucamelon.

What I could share is something I found absurd. My siblings and I were discussing about games and then we jumped towards a conversation where I found out that there were debates regarding Goofy (yes that cartoon character) whether it was a cow or a dog.

It's just weird how people put such energy and effort to that kind of thing...

I was searching for playground swings on Google Search Images hoping that I could find the difference between playground swings for adults and kids, but what I found was just for kids. Then I changed my search to adult swing(s) and... there was one picture that wasn't child-friendly.

Well.. it was tagged "adult" so maybe that's why google decided to put non-child-friendly content.

Ugh, I can't remember anything very fun at the moment. i always end up in weird rabbit holes when looking stuff up for research and I'll remember the stuff I see for the next few days. Closest thing I can remember is based on a recommended video from Youtube, but the thing in the video is absolutely foul and NSFW lol the channel itself is a rabbit hole into the weirder side of the internet

While looking up older technology my friends told me about “the electric tablecloth” which was a tablecloth with lights on it that could be plugged in for illumination. All of the wires on it were live wires so if you spilled liquid on it you could literally die.....people ate dinner in this so I think you know why it did not persist

I randomly discovered that the North American Atlantic lobster lives longer than any other lobsters in the world. Can live for over 50 years, which explains the VERY BIG lobsters found here.

So sort of take artistic inspiration from Peanuts but I never read that much of the series. So I did and discovered that some of the humor can get dark

I recall writing a novel ambiented in the late 1900, and searching how toilets looked. I found out upper class toilets were fine pieces of ceramic exquisitely decorated both in the outside and inside.

I spent the next half an hour picturing an artisan of that time making his life out of painting beautiful patterns and flowers in what later would be taking the shit of someone maybe as high as royalty.

It was the literal definition of "shitting on art" O-O

Actually when I was beginning the ground work for a second series, and was working on the MC's powers. I found out that the sun is just fire with gravity. Like, if there was enough gravity, a small flame could turn into a star.
